We were very excited about visiting pops after reading so many positive reviews.
The dishes on the menu had a description that appears to make them seem American. However the dishes were pretty much just what you would get in any Dutch cafe.
First up were nachos on a bread board. They came with melted cheese, guac, sour cream, salsa and a little chilli. The guac and salsa were not freshly made.
Next we ordered the classic beef burger, chicken burger, fries and onion rings.
The beef burger (like many Dutch burgers) had extra herbs added to the meat. Making it not 100% beef. Burgers were advertised to be cooked medium. The burger was what you would describe very very well done. Which asks the question was it fresh meat or not?
The chicken burger. Where do I start? First off they are charging €15.50 for this product. When it arrived, I cut it in half. The meat in the patty was grey/brown. Totally processed. I did try it to taste. Unfortunately I could not stomach it at all. It was terrible.
The fries and onion rings. These were also frozen.
In the end we decided to leave without eating our main course. We informed the waitress of this and also why we did not eat. She was very pleasant. She did apologise and say she would inform the chef/owners. We did still have to PAY for our uneaten food though.
You cannot charge €15.50 for a chicken burger and provide processed muck. You should at least have breast meat.

Read moreWent because of a recommendation from a FB group, very disappointing experience. Had to call waitress over to eventually order our food, came pretty quickly. Firstly we ordered 5 meals, out came 3 small baskets of chips. We were told if we wanted more chips we would have to order extra ( cleared up at the end that we wouldn’t have to pay extra, but we didn’t know that at the start of the meal.) so imagine 2 adults trying to take chips off 3 hungry children. Adults ended up with hardly any chips. Ordered steak medium well, it came out completely rare. She took it back to the kitchen and it came back slightly less rare. Ribs were on a small chopping board which would have been ok if the ribs weren’t the toughest I’ve ever encountered in my life, so nearly flew off the table while I was trying to cut them. No meat on them anyway so I don’t know why I bothered. Absolutely no room for all the meals on the table, we had to sit things on the ground so we could eat comfortably. The kids enjoyed their meals thankfully. Probably because of all the chips they got. We did speak to the waitress and they didn’t charge us for the adult meals, only saving grace she was very nice. I’m just glad we didn’t have to fork out £110 euros when we had to get some food on the walk back to the accommodation as still hungry. A wholly disappointing experience at the end of...
Read moreWent today for lunch. Would not recommend. Family of 7. Service was incredibly lacking. Smallest children's meals we have ever seen. 7 chip's and the smallest burger we have ever seen. Adults burgers, we were asked how we would like them cooked, don't know why they bothered asking as they didn't cook them as requested. One of the well done burgers was still bleeding. One burger was requested without pickle and tomato, which then came with no bacon? Would definitely say that not great value. We have eaten out alot on holiday and this has got to be the worst experience we have had. It was a really windy day and some of us got injured by flying menu's, which the staff were not remotely...
