Café Neuf — Restaurant in Zandvoort

So sad. The interior looks quite nice and in combination with the prices for the dishes this seemed to be a high quality spot for dining. But we would not recommend this place, cause several things happened: The waitress served the wrong drinks twice and told us, that she write it down right, but her colleagues gave her the wrong ones (not that funny if you want alcohol free and get it with alcohol instead). A friend ordered meatballs. She came back several minutes later and told him that today they only got vegan meatballs. He said he didn't want them anymore. She wanted someone else of us to take them instead, but no one wanted which seemed a but annoying for her. I got sushi and the preparation took about half an hour. I waited for the others to get the burgers, but even after 15 more minutes they were not ready and also in the kitchen Noone was working any more. We asked when the order would be made. They noticed a mistake and the boss told us, that the dishes would all be standing on the table in 5-10 minutes. In total we had to wait 21 more minutes and very sadly the burgers were a bit small and also the quality and taste was not worth the high price. So sad cause we came there to have a mice evening with a bigger group and it ended with us all very very hungry (waiting for about 1,5 hours for...

Update 29/Jul/2024. Now re-born and probably under new management! Service has returned at last: prompt and courteous. Although the orange juice was not fresh, as requested, but bottled, it was better than nothing. The place was very busy like the good old days. We look forward to our return!

The following is now superseded. This place has collapsed in terms of service and ambience since it has changed from its former guise as The Cafe Neuf. We used to enjoy coming here most week-ends during the summer months but no longer! The last time I visited I sat on the patio for 15 mins; no one came to serve me so I went inside and sat at the bar. I was ignored there too and did not enjoy the noise of the cutlery being thrown into the receptacle. I noticed the the flat-screen TV had gone (my friends and I used to meet here regularly for the F1 GPs). Be aware that this is a tourist scam! We went there with 2 persons on a Tuesday night and ordered tacos (Tue. is taco night and only 8 meals including taco-like food are available). Drinks came quite quick, but dinner was served after 30 minutes - but only half of it. Basically that already is not service orientated, to deliver the meals one after another if you are eating together. The price is very expensive for the small patches of dinner on a small desert dish (!). Cannot say anything to the second part of dinner, as it wasn't even there after another 30 minutes and asking the staff again. Left the place hungry and went to a fast food kiosk near the beach. NB! Other guests (probably locals) who arrived long after us had their dinner long before us. Also, outer space is heated although no one sits outside, which is a no go in these times! You could use blankets. The two stars is for the drinks, which came to the table. Again!...
