Nestled in the heart of the St Heliers, Chim Chim is a hidden gem for Thai cuisine enthusiasts. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this exquisite establishment to celebrate my friend Ben's birthday, and it was an experience to remember.
Ambiance Upon entering Chim Chim, I was immediately captivated by the cozy yet sophisticated ambiance. The warm lighting, tasteful decor, and gentle music set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out with friends, Chim Chim provides the perfect atmosphere for any occasion.
Service From the moment we stepped through the door, the staff at Chim Chim made us feel welcome and valued. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations, ensuring that each dish exceeded our expectations. The attentive yet unobtrusive service added to the overall enjoyment of our evening, making us feel like honored guests.
Flavors Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. Chim Chim takes diners on a culinary journey through Thailand with its diverse and authentic flavors. Each dish is expertly crafted using fresh ingredients and traditional techniques, resulting in a symphony of tastes and textures that tantalize the taste buds. From tangy salads to rich curries, every bite was a delight for the senses.
Standout Dish: One dish that truly stole the spotlight was the Pork Belly. Tender and succulent, with a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors, it was a true masterpiece. The crispy skin gave way to melt-in-your-mouth meat that left us craving more with each bite. Paired with fragrant jasmine rice, it was a match made in culinary heaven.
Overall Experience: In conclusion, dining at Chim Chim was nothing short of extraordinary. From the inviting ambiance to the impeccable service and, most importantly, the unforgettable flavors, every aspect of the experience exceeded my expectations. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or simply looking to enjoy a delicious meal with friends, I wholeheartedly recommend Chim Chim. Thank you for an unforgettable evening, and happy...
Read moreHave been here a few times and have always loved the food and service has usually always been good. However, on my last visit the service was not a up to standard, staff seemed flustered and busy (completely understand when this happens ) but when we got there there were barely 3 tables, we were put at the back “private area” which it’s just a dark, full of mosquitoes and lonely corner behind the kitchen which was just super loud (because of the kitchen ) and it was not ideal because the waitress kept forgetting about our table. Our booking was at 6pm, we got there at 5:50pm ordered by 6:15 but our food took over 50 minutes to arrive, the mains took extremely long to come out. We only started eating at around 7:30. Seemed like you guys enough staff and were not completely full. Completely ruined my experience here as i used to be a fab...
Read moreOrdered on uber eats as there was a deal. Green curry and Phad Thai $10 each down from $27. They were both delicious, very tasty some of the best Thai I have had in Auckland. My only complaint is that the portions were very small. The phad Thai was half a container and was not even a proper amount to feed one person. The green curry was also a small amount but looked like more but majority of this container was just liquid. Rice portion also extremely small for the price of $5, it was also cold. I understand I got a good deal on uber eats but if I had paid full price I would not be happy. Even if they changed the portions to reflect the price on uber eats - you should not be offering special deals for something that one would assume would be a decent portion. Overall I really enjoyed the food and I will be...
