Chicking Ormiston — Restaurant in Ōtara-Papatoetoe

First and last time we will be ordering from this establishment. I witnessed one of the staff members grab fried chicken out of the warmer with her bare hands, then proceeded to break said chicken onto a bowl of rice. At first, I thought that was for herself, I was horrified to find out that this was for an uber eats order. Furthermore, she did not wash her hands afterward. From there, she then moved over to the frozen fries where she also handled those without any gloves as well. It became very obvious that they did not enforce or partake in any hygienical practices. I will acknowledge that I was rude to her, and do apologize for that. However, it was only after I had brought this to her attention that she, as well as other employees, actually put gloves on and used tongs when handling the chicken. Observing the lack of hygiene practices, I requested that she not touch my order and they obliged. As for the food itself: The spicy chicken was average at best, the original chicken had far too much batter and was tasteless, the coleslaw smelt and tasted off, the potato and gravy was also sub-par, the chips were unseasoned, and tasted old; as though they had sat for ages. In total, our order cost $90, 12 pieces of original chicken, three spicy, three chips, one coleslaw, one potato and gravy and a drink. Not...

I usually order from here for delivery, and it's usually pretty good. However, my last 2 orders haven't been so great. My last order I got a value choice meal with 3 crispy strips, 1 of the strips I had was a small drum from a wing, cut in half and deep fried with just the bone (maybe some leftover pieces of chicken that was already eaten). There was nothing but batter, that's disgusting. The other strips tasted off and had a sour taste. I don't have a photo as I threw that crap away and didn't wanna see it. My order before this, I ordered the same meal and waited an hour, watching the driver sit in the same location for half an hour, then cancel my order. Just poor experience overall and I won't be ordering...

Went to get lunch on break - there were two staff behind the counter and one yelled out to use the kiosk! This person looked like the manager and doesnt look like she wants to work there! She kept giving rude looks and was very unfriendly.

I ordered takeout and about five minutes later she was tells me that the grill wasnt working and i needed to order something else. Dah - could have been solved if she took the order to start with! Didnt get anything else and cancelled the grill order.

I have been in here before and the food was ready much faster and the service has been way better!

I probably wont go there again if that rude...
