Shubh has been here in Sandringham for a LONG time now, serving the vegetarian varieties (mostly North Indian). Started off as just a ‘Take Away’ outlet, on the clientele increasing, added the dine in room, as an add-on. The dishes are very well priced and the portions are larger than most available in similar price range. I have found the paneer (Indian Cheese!) based dishes very compatible with my palate; specially ‘paneer paalak’. The good part of the offerings is that there is just enough ‘masaala’ or spices added to ensure good taste prevails (unlike quite a few other Indian outlets that tend to go ‘over-board’ with their spices (specially chillies!). The savoury and sweet items, to go along with main dishes, are also up to the mark. Though must admit, at times, have found the savoury stuff to be a little too oily! The Thali being offered for the dine in, includes a choice of 2 vegetable dishes, a good helping of curd, rice and 2 chapattis – enough for one to have a good ‘fill & feel’ at the end of it! Edit - January 2018 The quality of food has been the same top notch as always. Quite a few items have been added to the menu. The sweets are also freshly prepared and good in taste. In terms of price, this is one of the most competitive out there. The only drawback is the dine in restaurant which closes at 6 PM. Otherwise all is great and very highly recommended.
Edit - January 2024 The food quality still remains top notch after these many years. The dine in space is now closed though.

Read moreWe often pick up an entire week's worth of dinner from here. This, simply because my husband and I usually cook Indian for dinner on weeknights and the food at Shubh is almost exactly what we cook and like to eat. It works out so much cheaper and convenient to just bring in Shubh every now and then. The quality is top notch, the dishes reminiscent of the home-cooked Indian food we grew up on - non-oily, optimally spicy and very satisfying. Buying groceries, prepping, cooking and cleaning up after costs significantly more in terms of both time and money. We are very...
