Quite and quaint sandwich bar/cafe. It's exactly what you want and need after a night out on the town. The location makes you feel at ease since Young George is set amongst residential homes. You won't be bothered by the usual fair of cafe goers here and can enjoy your brunch in peace. Coffee is beautifully made by someone who knows what they're doing. Sandwiches are equally as special and just as well made/presented. I had the beef sando, imagine it as the better more balanced version of a quarter pounder. There was just enough cheese and other condiments on the sandwich so as not to distract you from the main star of the dish, which was the juicy beef patty. The bread used was also top tier. Probably the most moreish sandwich I've ever had in my life. I had the chicken katsu one and it was SOOOOO delicious. Chicken nice and juicy and really light (didn't feel heavy for breaded chicken). It hung over past the bread, so you get a couple mouthfuls of pure chicken to enjoy. The slaw was delicious and creamy and I never thought I'd froth over toasted bread, but that bread was perfect. It was served with yummy (also moreish) crisps and naturally had to get the fries. Oh man. They were so great. For the basic crinkle cut, these were perfection. Firstly, staff here are so friendly and attentive. Really makes the whole experience better then just food.

Next, the food! This place doesn’t just have the best Sando (Japanese sandwiches) in Auckland it has the best sandwiches in Auckland full stop. The Sando bread is beautifully soft with a nice crust. The katsu and smash patties is so tender and juicy (not oily at all). The flavouring profile is so spot on you can really taste every detail they have put in the Sando.

One more thing. Their latté art is WOW. Really shows you how much pride they take to make sure every little detail counts.

They can get quite busy at times so can be a little bit of wait. But trust me. It is soooooo worth it.
