Gallipoli Turkish Restaurant — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

The Gallipoli is across King St from the Pak n Save supermarket. There is ample parking behind the shops, off the side streets. Inside, the front part of the restaurant is set up like a takeaway, but past the till there are several tables. Nothing fancy, but comfortable. We ordered an iskender (rice dish with salads, hummus, sauces and shaved meat) and a salad lamb 'kebab' which is basically an iskender without the rice.

We're used to the portions at the Ataturk in The Strand and we were surprised when our plates arrived and they looked to be almost double the amount of food as the Ataturk for the same money ($15 each for a large).

We loved the food...... But we're also easily pleased by fresh salad, yummy hummus and beetroot salad and the shaved lamb.

I'd recommend the Gallipoli. It's decor is very different to the Ataturk (only other kebab place in Whakatane), but no less pleasant as far as we...

Food was amazing. Portion of food for the price was awesome. 22 dollars for meat on chips mixed meat so lamb and chicken you just can't beat that you also get a boss salad too I recommend getting extra pickles i had to ask forr more they are on. It has great music for you too listen to while waiting for your food. From the outside it looks like a normal shop but from the inside it's as of your in Turkey 🇹🇷. I'm a big guy and when i say I can I can eat and I just got through my meal with not much space for anything else haha. 10 out of 10 being the first time in the shop.

This place always provides fresh and delicious food! The service is always great as well! I ordered this through Uber eats one day when my children were sick and they went over and above adding extras to my Kebab even tho it wasn't an option and allowed me to make up the payment when k went in next. Called in today to pay the outstanding balance and they didn't accept it. Super greatful!! Lovely people. I eat here weekly if I can my children...
