We only have good things to say about this place. You get tasty and quality food worth your money that will make your taste buds satisfied! It might be a bit pricey but the quality of their meat is excellent, the veggies, fries and sauces that come with it are as well of high end and well prepared. We had lamb and a steak dish, both were excellent. Staying in Rotorua for more than 3 days we learn that it is best to put $10- $15 more to get an amazing dish and food experience. The service was good (above average for this city), the waitress was kind, always smiling with a positive attitude. She understood very well our questions and it is a good place to eat and hang out / watch people passing by on the main street. After few bites, the cook Chef came by to our table asking if everything was to our liking and if we had any suggestion for improvement. That was very nice of him to do so; seriously how often do we get to meet the cook Chef! :-) Our lunch became an even better experience and apparently at night it gets busy. If you like beer, their local IPA is tasty with a deep dark colour. We definitely recommend this restaurant and without hesitation we will return and try other dishes.

I understand why this restaurant has a such high score but food isn’t the reason. The staff (I think the owners) is so attentive (I would say too much) that people feel obliged to write a good review. I'm not that kind of person. When I pay a lot of money, I want to get a product quality corresponding to the price. I do not like meat so I ordered fish on the menu but it was out of it, it hasn't been there for several days (it's hard to imagine that it's hard to get fish in New Zealand). So I had no other option except risotto. It was anything but not risotto. If you don't know how to cook a dish, don't put it on the menu. That was just rice porridge with mushrooms no more. My husband said that his dishes were good but latter he had digestive problems. And also, dear owners, please wash the toilets. Well, there can't be toilets like at an abandoned gas station when the prices are in a restaurant like in Ritz.

While in Rotorua, this great restaurant stuck out as it promotes farm (and ocean) to table cuisine. The pan-seared scallops were cooked to the appropriate tenderness over a cauliflower purée that matched perfectly together. The Waratah Farm Duroc pork belly with red wine sauce was amazing. It was fried to a crisp with a nice side of arugula salad. The Hawkes Bay lamb rump was the star of the dinner. Perfect medium rare lamb that is moist and tender without the game smell that many might be afraid of. Paired with black garlic butter, roasted root vegetables and arugula salad. Amazing food. Great service. There also is a great selection of wine that would accompany each dish perfectly. Definitely come and experience the best of Rotorua.

**Update 3rd time I have been here after 9months: Unfortunatelyhave to drop to 3 stars. I took my 3 colleagues here, we were the only table whenwe arrived. Too long waiting time for being the only customers, plus with the new ordering system with tablets, 3/6 dishes we ordered were wrong. They offered gelato to us at the end, but we went home not completely satisfied, although even the wrong dishes tastes good** They should tell from minute one what is not available in the menu. However food was nice, came out quickly but was not busy A bit overpriced, but must try it Menu is not huge, that is why.food is done properly ***please pay more attention when you cook steak to make sure it is to people's liking***

You know that feeling when your like “where’s the rest of it?” I died a little bit inside when a very underwhelming meal was brought out. This place has plenty of good reviews, so maybe wrong meal to pick - you decide… Photo attached of lamb rack $44 and potato gratin (basically mashed potato fried in a pan - even though looks like a flattened cheese scone) at $9.90 extra. For $54 as a main and side in Rotorua, I did not expect to then go looking for food elsewhere afterwards. As a side note, I wouldn't define ‘fine dining’, as ordering off a tablet which is what happens here. They could benefit from having actual menu’s and a staff member to talk about food options and interact.

We randomly stopped here for dinner for our 27th Wedding Anniversary, and we're so glad we did. The food was amazing, the portion sizes were spot on - we shared an entree, had a main each (with swapsies) and a dessert each, and left feeling satisfied with every plate scraped clean. Number 8 Wire nailed (pardon the pun) setting the ambience with lighting, and a music selection which was just the right volume to enjoy without needing to yell over. Another plus is the menu was easy to read with a clear font against a while background - great for these older eyes of mine. The chairs were super-comfy, and the tables large enough to hold the meals and not feel cramped.
