Sweet treats are awesome. Go there once a week but the first time served by the girl with black curly hair was not good at all. Came in the early morning when the store was not busy and ordered three sweets including a pack of shortbread biscuits. Later found that only two things were in the bags. Went back to check and been told that we only paid for TWO things, and so we paid again for the biscuits. After checking the retail prices on their website(as some of their sweets didn't have price labels in-store), the first payment still did not make sense. Went back for the second time and asked for an explanation. However, the girl insisted that we only ordered TWO things. After we got our first payment receipt printed, we found out that we paid for THREE things but she charged us a short black instead of shortbread biscuits. I told her that I didn't order a coffee and get one either. Without saying sorry or something sounded like she got it wrong, she was like 'It is alright if you want your coffee refund'. I was out of words for a sec since I was 100% sure I did mention the word 'biscuits' when ordered and the refund was not the point at all. Go garb the full receipt and check on the bags before leaving, it will save time and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIve been here many times, but will avoid after my last experience. This one particular man working here (owners son apparently, go figure) needs to learn some customer service skills, PRONTO. When asked about my loyalty points he seemed really annoyed, like this was a big issue?! Itās literally your job to help people, why make your displeasure so known⦠Itās also not okay to snap back at customers!!! Needless to say, this made me incredibly uncomfortable.
Seriously, all the younger staff and literally everyone else (kudos to the baristas, thank you for being so lovely) manage to display excellent service and often go out of their way to help you. Not this particular guy though.. itās like he thinks customers are beneath him or something?!?!
Adding to this, this man has been rude every single time Iāve had the displeasure to be served by him. I let it go on previous occasions but today was the final straw!
Judging by everyone elseās reviews, this seems to be a recurring problem. Seriously mate, get off your high horse and learn some manners, youāre doing your parents a major...

University of Canterbury law professor Annick Masselot said there were definitely more than 50 people inside Bakermans in Christchurch on Wednesday morning, and most were not following the rules. Masselot said she saw dozens of people wandering about the cafe and ordering without a mask on at the counter. āLots of old people hanging around together and moving from one table to the other. It was like a rave party for over 70s,ā Masselot said. āI do fervently hope that there were no cases of Covid-19 in the South Island because what I saw today at the coffee shop truly horrified me.
