Consistently good food (their DIY bagel is fantastic! Especially for fussy eaters) and coffees and very friendly staff. Definitely better quality food and service than the average kiwi cafe! Great at catering to all ages and groups, and they offer a student discount. Great atmosphere and a very clean and tidy cafe. I would (and have) reccomend this to anyone for any occasion. Edit: i've now been coming here for 4 years. They continue to uphold their high standards, love the little team that work there, they will for sure take care of you!

Nice cafe with great atmosphere and service, located just few minutes away from University. Good selection of cabinet and a la carte menu for breakfast and lunch, including several vegetarian and vegan options. Bagels are great ! Coffee is just amazing, nice and smooth flat white. Several alternative milk options. Plenty of seats inside and outside. Cafe has its own car park on the side for customers, which is convenient. Owners seem to be doing great job and smile serving customers which is so important!

The eggs Benedict were good with the salmon, it is tasty and delicious. It's a great hike here from UC, not too long. The atmosphere is amazing, staff are friendly and helpful. I had tried the haloumi but that was a little bitter last time. Definitely a nice little cafe on the corner and being busy is a good sign. Would definitely return and hope they can keep prices competitive.

The eggs Benedict were good with the salmon, it is tasty and delicious. It's a great hike here from UC, not too long. The atmosphere is amazing, staff are friendly and helpful. A five star café! My family stopped going before lockdown last March due to a significant drop in the standards of food, coffee, and decent hospitality. It was actually embarrassing, no longer a place worth even walking past. By chance we went back and what a difference!

New owner, new manager, new chef, new staff. This is no longer the LB’s that we experienced that short time ago. What David, David & their new team have done with this place is make it a place you are excited to go to! A modern & friendly local café where the service is slick, the food is delicious, and the coffee is fantastic (as are the smoothies by chance.) You feel that same standard each time. No matter how busy, it’s our new Sunday favourite!

We went to this café on Saturday for the first time.

When we walked in we were stared at by the woman who was the barista and although she was the barista I think she felt she did not have to say a friendly hello, just a hard stare as to say well what do you want me to say!

The staff member that served us made up for the other staff members bad customer service although I ordered a hot Latte but got a warm one and asked for another one which I got and an apoligie from the lady that served us. I think she was (Dutch)

It is a shame that one bad egg in the staff can lead to the point of where customers will not go back a second time because of one staff members bad demeanor and body language.

This is a lovely place in the middle of the Ilam neighborhood.

You can park right outside and they seem to do things a little differently - it great ways.

The cabinet food.and cakes were to die for and even though we just nipped in for a takeout fridge drink (having gone past the house we need to be in a d so having to turn around) we ended up having coffee in and the snickers cake. Yummy 😋.

The coffee came in a mug that I didn't quite understand but it was really.nice and I really enjoyed the mug after all 😄😄.

They were trying to close up I think but all guests weren't hurried and welcomed to stay till done. I bought a $50 voucher as a gift too because I'd like someone else to come see the cakes....
