Hey All,
I would like to share my bikaner Christchurch visit yesterday’s visit. After entering the restaurant,i joined the que and 3 rd in the place .now it was my turn.i have planned to order 8 samosa ,250 milk cake and 2 masala dosa takeaway .the girl was serving behind the counter, her name is vaishali(not 100% sure). now ,i have started to place my order and told 8 samosa, and she intruppted me in the middle of my order trying to give me a tray of 2 cups of tea( i thought she might forget my order) so i told her that i am not ordering any tea.the lady told me its not for you but can you serve this tray on that table. I was like ‘ARE YOU SERIOUS’,she said oh sorry and continued to operating a cash machine. The customer (couple) behind me in the que were looking at me and heard the conversation and looking at me ,it made the situation more painful for me.
As i was feeling very disrespected ,shamed and insulted,so i did not order any thing else but paid for the somasa and left the restaurant.
After leaving the restaurant,i sit inside my car for 15 minutes and thinking about the scene and decided to go inside the restaurant and talk to the manager, but i thought again the talking and infront of all customers make bad reputation for there business, so i decided to call them.Luckily on my 4 th attempt,my call was answered and I discussed the situation with the manager but didn’t get any satisfied answer and the told to leave my number and the owner will call me.
After 30-45 minute, I received the call the the owner and he apologised on the behalf of the staff and assured me that he will talk to the staff. I asked him to provide me a proof once he deal with it and i provide my e-mail address.
Now i am waiting to hear from them.
P.S. i am still feeling very insulted as i was never happened...
Read moreIf you're looking for a truly authentic Indian dining experience, then Bikanervala is definitely the place to go. I recently had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant and was blown away by the quality of food and service.
Firstly, the menu is extensive and offers a wide range of Indian dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. From appetizers to mains and desserts, every dish is prepared with care and attention to detail. I particularly enjoyed the samosas and paneer tikka, which were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor.
The service at Bikanervala is also top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with any questions or requests. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect place to catch up with friends or enjoy a family dinner.
In addition to their restaurant, Bikanervala also offers takeaway options. I've ordered from them several times and have always been impressed by how quickly my food is ready and how well it travels. The packaging is sturdy and ensures that your food arrives at its destination piping hot and fresh.
Finally, the Indian sweets at Bikanervala are an absolute must-try. The variety of sweets on offer is simply staggering, and each one is more delicious than the last. From rasgullas to gulab jamuns, their sweets are the perfect way to end a meal or indulge in a sweet treat.
Overall, I would highly recommend Bikanervala to anyone looking for a great Indian dining experience. With their delicious food, excellent service, and fantastic sweets, you won't be...
Read moreI should have written this review months ago, but only finally getting to it. The review is as much about the food as it is about the people here.
The food first - Bikanervala is a lovely change and addition to the Christchurch Indian eating joints scene. Most restaurants have the same old menu and they are unwilling to take risks. Bikanervala broke away from that plot and started something truly Indian - an eatery that stays open all day, serves some familiar, some unfamiliar Indian snacks, is reasonably priced, and the food is largely authentic. But that is only 40% of the reason why we keep coming back.
60% of it is the people. Lovely, friendly staff, always ready to help out with advise and never without a smile no matter how busy the restaurant might be. And it gets busy, believe me!
A really, really special shout out to Jas, the amazing young lady who we believe is the front of house manager (or should immediately be promoted to if she isn't!). Jas has been the highlight of our Bikanervala experience - ever so pleasant, friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in customers and their needs. Every time we have been to the restaurant, we have seen Jas serve customers and help new staff with a positive, lovely attitude and that brilliant, welcoming smile.
If you have not already visited this restaurant, you simply must go! This will not be your average westernised Indian food. This is as close to the real thing that you will get in...
