Box Café — Restaurant in Christchurch

I popped into the box cafe after leaving Dr Specs and had the large Crispy Chicken Box Bab and a Mocca and I have to say that it was indeed a very delicious and tasty meal better value than any of those fast food outfits like KFC or Maccas and way better value for money and the chicken actually tasted like chicken the salad was nice the sauce was nice and the rice was nice. Sadly another example in Christchurch of well meaning good people opening a cafe with no clue how to make decent cafe food and coffee. Coffee was bitter and super heated so it couldn't be drunk for 20 minutes. The "cheese scone" had no cheese that I could detect and was drowned in cheap margarine. The scone dough had a sweet taste which seems to be a thing now with cheese scones! At $12.50 this was way too expensive for a small out of town cafe. Friendly service and nice enough...

While it is a bit pricey it's just up the road from my work and the chicken sandwich aswell as the wrap here is some of the best cafe food you'll ever have. The iced mocha was also perfect. The staff are some of the nicest youl meet in any Christchurch cafe.
