In true Patsy form this was "Absolutely Fabulous darling!" I mean they even serve bubbles. What more could a girl want?

We started with bubbles 🍾 whilst we waited for our blue cod and chips.

I love my fish and chips and I am a tough customer when it comes to battered fish. There have been some epic fails over the last few years and it has become my mission to find the best battered fish in NZ, well Canterbury at the very least.

So this good sized portion of fish and chips was served to us and my first words on cutting into it and taking my first mouthful were "Oh my God! This fish is amazing and the batter is divine." Our table fell almost silent once our food was served other than to compliment every aspect of what we were eating.

The fish was a good sized chunky fillet and it was covered in a light, crispy batter. I was so excited to find absolutely no sign of soggy batter. There is nothing worse than thinking you are about to savour a beautiful piece of fish only to sink your teeth into a mouthful of partially cooked, soggy, bland, batter mix. Well let me assure you, this did not happen tonight because this battered fish was cooked to perfection. The chips were fabulously chunky too, a healthy option to the McDonald's style fries so many establishments offer and we both loved the coleslaw which was seriously tasty.

Thanks FUSH for an ab fab dining experience this evening, we won't only be back but we will be sharing our experience with all of our friends...

Very disappointing, won’t return. Massively overpriced. The place was empty for a reason. I saw another negative review from Val 8 months ago. She was complaining about the cooking, but at least she got two fillets of cod, my wife received one small fillet for $29. The $5 coleslaw she ordered was just a small portion of dry shredded cabbage, she had to use the tartare sauce to make it palatable. I paid quickly because I wanted to leave and was surprised there was a surcharge. I didn’t even see the small typed label to the side, not on the terminal itself, and the % isn’t stated. The Joe’s Garage manager came across to apologise. It was clear I was far from the first to complain about the prices and there had been a complaint earlier that day about the surcharge. I generally pay with Eftpos so neither myself or the business has to pay an unnecessary fee, but I wanted to leave asap, especially as the staff were clearly wanting to go home. The cartoon on the screen may feel nostalgic for old men, but my thirteen year old daughter was cringing at the sexist imagery. if you are going to charge so much make sure the quality and quantity is appropriate to represent good value. Not really interested in your template reply, just make...

Kia ora, we had ordered some delivery for kai tonight. Unfortunately when the delivery came, everything was very cold, and half of what we had ordered were not up to our expectations. Half the box of the fried cauliflower and onion rings was just batter, plus the cauliflower was inedible as it was like rice and hard to pick up. The fried chicken bao buns were dry and tasteless. The fish burger was the same, however the chunky chips were good and warm, probably the only good thing of the order but we could’ve made this at home. Perhaps whoever was making the order could have timed it better so everything was warm? And maybe added some more flavour? Considering the prices are on the more expensive side, we were extremely let down by your food. We don’t mind paying high prices for quality food, but this was very far from quality. We were really excited to try this as I tried 5 years ago and was amazing, and wanted to share with my partner, but maybe the owners have changed? We just want you to be informed of customer reviews! We can send you photos of this if you are interested. Ngā mihi nui...

Since it is famous for its fish and chips, you know you gotta try that at least. Gotta say, wasn’t disappointed. Nice fried battered fish, wholesome chips, nice fresh coleslaw. Overall a generous portion. For those who wishes to shy away from the fried stuffs, I would recommend the steamed buns too. This was the pork version, stuffed with pulled pork with a few cracklings. I was afraid that the bun may be soggy, fortunately it wasn’t. I wouldn’t recommend the cauliflower pops tho (I believe that’s what it is called). First off it is overpriced for its tiny portion, and secondly it is overly spiced and flavoured one dimensionally that you’ll get tired of the taste in the 3rd bite. Beer selection was... okay... The dining area is not at its cleanest, let be honest here. While they try to keep to the theme of being higher-end-casual, crumbs and salt should always be wiped off the bench (and seats) when you cleared the table. Other than that, if the food standard is being maintained the way I tasted it, I’d be coming back for the fried fish again.

Seriously blown away by the experience here. From the second you walk in, the tone is set - you're in for something special. The aquatic/scuba/retro theme works rather well and is incredibly unique. The team were warm, welcoming, and generally exceptional across the board. The range of food is diverse enough to cater for the pickiest among us, or those who have special requirements. Portion sizes are pretty decent, making the slightly higher price tag a little more valid. Couldn't recommend the popcorn cauliflower more; thoroughly and pleasantly surprised there. Kumara chips, squid rings, and fried chook were all impeccably presented, seasoned, and cooked. TL,DR; Ok prices, good range, great service, excellent food. He tino pai rawa atu koe!

Visiting from AU, really wanted to have some Fish & chips , decided to try this place based on reviews , and we weren't disappointed . It's located in a shopping centre, so plenty of parking available. Lovely service, and the food was excellent - tried the Ribaldo fish , GF crumbed. The preparation was so light and delicious to eat. The coleslaw was definitely worth trying, had a lovely crunch to it. Glad I saw someone else's review and tried the Milkshake (vanilla)...served in a massive steel glass that kept it chilled till the very last slurp...was 😋. Overall, highly recommend trying FUSH !
