Halswell Cafe — Restaurant in Christchurch

I felt I had to let you know of my experience last week at Halswell Cafe. On Wed while heading home I decided to stop off at Halswell Cafe for a coffee. The staff member was pleasant, I ordered a Cheese Roll and a Spiced Chai. After a few minutes the Cheese Roll was brought to the table, it had not been toasted and the cheese inside was barely melted, it had actually been put in the microwave ☹️ my Spiced Chai arrived but the saucer was full, this was taken back to be replaced with a luke warm coffee. I had the best salmon eggs Benedict in a long time! The salmon was fresh, the bread was toasted to perfection, and the eggs were soft, runny, and delicious. The coffee was unlike anything I’ve had before; it just hits differently. The ladies who served us were fantastic, and the pricing was great too. The barista didn’t seem to understand what dairy intolerance means. We kept saying if we could have a drink with non-dairy milk multiple times. We ordered an iced chocolate with a supposed to be dairy free milk but still ended up with a very upset tummy. So could it be in the chocolate mixture. Too bad as this experience will stop me...
