Te Hāpua Halswell Summer Pool — Local services in Christchurch

I have never used the pool for swimming but as it's connected to the library I have had a pretty good look @ it. When the pool is open in summer there are lots of people of all ages having a great time, there are slides & no doubt queues for these. Entrance is through the council main entrance & there is a small cafe between the library & the pool entrance. The cafe caters for everyone & kids as well as adults are to be seen lined up here. I've been going to this pool since I was a kid. It's had some upgrades, but the pools themselves and the hydro slide have remained the same. It's great that there is a little cafe that you can access. The family changing rooms are great! There's not much shelter if the wind is strong and could maybe do with some more shade on the grass. Awesome library, so many nooks and cozy places set up to hang out. Wee kids playground outside, nice range of foreign language kids books, table with games and power sockets & ports for using laptops, cafe (though I didn't try it this time)... Centre has a community board with activities advertised, rooms to hire, and swimming pool which opens in November. How amazing...
