KFC Papanui — Restaurant in Christchurch

KFC is definitely the nations worst fast food chain in terms of service, food, hygiene, and value, but unfortunately it’s the closest and every so often my family and I crave it.

This Papanui is one of the worst though and that’s saying something! Probably not going to give it another go next time the craze comes.

The lady at the speaker was abrupt and impatient. I ordered a coupon (ultimate date) and an extra meal (snack lunch). I asked for extra seasoning, 2x coke and 1x no sugar sprite all with no ice, and requested a thigh piece (which she assured me would be fulfilled, although usually I’m told its “if possible”). $34 lol, not bad actually, for KFC.

At the window I was told “it’s all in there”. There was over 10 cars behind me so I had a quick look, seemed alright, left and went home.

At home - 2 mins drive max - we discover no extra seasoning, a drumstick, a missing chips, and the potato and gravies and bread rolls were dead cold (and I’ve had them remain warm from Shirley 3.5 more kms away!!). The lettuce was brown and smelled funky. The chicken in the burgers was hot, only redeeming quality in this trip! The no sugar sprite was pure soda, no flavour AT ALL!! And the cokes were entirely FLAT!? With barely any flavour at all!! And on top of that, there’s a “nationwide shortage of red onion”, so I expected that. But I’ve seen them at the supermarket, sure they’re more expensive, but I’m sure they could just get some from there in the meantime, or at the very least, give you an option to receive brown onion!

I’ve tried to call since we found the missing chips, I was definitely not going to go back just to wait in line for ages. But no answer!!

Absolutely appalling. But hey let’s face it, if you’re going there to eat it you probably already expect a sub par fast food experience. And just like all KFC not part of a mall (where they have it done for them), the restaurant is always filthy.

It is a formal complain to one specific staff working here.

I work in customer service industry as well, so I felt it is unacceptable and inprofessional to do that.

*I was there with my partner, we both asian looking but are all citizen here.

She asked me leave because my mask is lost just before we came in. I stay away from her quite far away, and keeps saying sorry that my mask is lost outside, and was drop on ground while it is raining and the mask is wet and dirty. I am so sorry that I do not have a extra one with me, I asked could them provide mask. She said no, I told my partner that I am gonna wait him in the dining zone ( nobody wearing mask while they eating). Destiny got so mad and she asked me to leave the store!!!!

Then a male staff gave me an extra one, I appreciate that.

The lady keeps saying 'No, we don't have a spare one. No! There is ob more!' Which makes me so mad.

In a restaurant where people take off their mask to eat anyway, I have enough reason to believe that me and my partner are being disadvantaged!

After that,

I couldn't believe the lady, Destinie(y), keeps asking my partner to repeat 5 times about the order. It seems she do it in purpose.

We ordered a $41 wicked meals, instead of 8 chicken wings, we only got 6.

I don't know why thus happens.

Also, I felt being disadvantaged here by this lady. We wait 15mins only for a cup for our drinks. Another guy working there tried to help us, but he has been warned by this lady.

Kfc pribably be proud of their fries, but not their custimer services,...

Poor service, messy foods, bad orders, untrained staff and much more. I always go to this kfc because its the closest and one of my friends work there aswell. I always come with my mum and one other to have kfc. Each time we visit there something is wrong. One of the problems is customer service, they're slow, gets our order mixed up e.g getting a large combo but betting a regular and also getting a zinga burger instead of a regular burger. The food is messy but average. Alot of times I've gotten chips that when open, half of the chips were missing, over salted or lacking in salt. Also some burgers I get are not even in place as the chicken and other stuff looks like it was thrown on and not taken care of. We even had multiple times where my mum orders a 3 piece quarter pack but only gets 2 chicken or 3 very small pieces, what a rip off. And it all can link up to untrained staff because each time I go there, there a new people everytime I go over there and I'm not sure if they got fired or not but they're aren't trained properly and gets everything wrong and can lead up to traffic jams in the drive through because they're slow.
