March 2020 - I went to The Colombo to check out this place. However, it was a cold day and also lunch time, I've decided to grab a lunch and came across to this stall in the middle of the mall.
They sell hot and cold Japanese food such as ramen, donburi, nigiri and sushi.
Anyway, I ordered a bowl of spicy chicken donburi (NZD $13.50) because I feel like something hot and spicy for my taste buds. From the time of order till I got my donburi was around 5 minutes. Not too bad for the wait. The deep fried chicken pieces are extensively coated with hot sauce. It is served with salad and rice. The deep fried chicken pieces are crunchy and tasted good. I have to warn you that it suits people with stronger tolerance for spicy food as it is not a mild spiciness (more like KFC hot wing spiciness). Anyway, it goes well with the rice and fresh salad.
I do recommend you to try and eat it there while the food is still hot (temperature).
Overall, I had a good experience from this Japanese food stall.
This is a non licensed (🍻🍸🍷🍾🍹🍺) eatery. There is plenty of seating area.
There is plenty of onsite parking 🅿.
They accept cash and EFTPOS including credit card payments (Paywave payments are available, for those who want to know).

Read moreAbsolutely love their Donburi. Sushi is quite nice too but I prefer their Donburi’s. The katsu chicken one is very nice and a favourite of mine. Portion sizes are pretty good as well. I order through ubereats so can’t give feedback on the customer service. My only complaint is that there seems to be an inconsistency in quality of the food, sometimes it’s really good and other times it’s only average. Would still recommend if you’re looking for some...
Read moreThe vegetable curry was very disappointing.... the vegetables were just from a frozen mix... Watties diced mixed vegetables or similar. Mainly diced carrots and peas, one piece of broccoli and two pieces of cauli.Worst of all they were undercooked! Hard peas! I expected there to be some potato, carrot chunks (not diced cubes)and some freshly prepared veges. It's not hard to make a Japanese curry comforting and nice.... seems like they don't really...
