The Serious Sandwich — Restaurant in Christchurch

As quite the sandwich connoisseur this was quite the disappointment, we shall start with the price..... $19 for a pulled pork salsa Verde sandwich, I don't find this unreasonable if what you are getting is in the same size category of what's to be expected at $19 to add to it all the Salsa Verde was very bland in flavour absolutely no body at all this includes it's structure as it seeped through my bread like water through a hole. The pork was tender which is a plus but unfortunately it stopped there it was completely over powered by the mayo, this is a testament to the quality of the mayo I guess but I definitely wasn't looking for a mayo forward sandwich.

I am sicked that not only is this more expensive than a full size sanga from the Hokitika sandwich company it's smaller than their half size.....

One positive is the Turkish bread was so good just wish there was more of it.

When I was asked what bread I wanted I didn’t realise I had asked for garlic bread. I ordered the Porchetta salsa verde and received pork sandwiched between two pieces of garlic bread. My sandwich was dripping in garlic and butter to the point I couldn’t taste much of the filling and I’m now trying to get the greasy taste out of my mouth.

I also was going to order the side of chips, but was told the wait was 30min so I decided against it. If then I knew my sandwich was also going to take 30min I would have actually got them.

As I was leaving, I even checked the menu again to see if the sandwich listed anything about garlic- nope.

Unfortunately, definitely wouldn’t go back. It’s a shame because with better service and more care taken in making the sandwiches, they could be...

Great sandwiches consumed here yesterday. Breakfast Bap and Chicken Caesar - this one had a choice of bread. Absolutely delicious. Both were toasted. Couldnt find fault.The ingredients were fresh and they sang as the taste buds were sent into notes of yum. Cut in half. Wrapped neatly in grease proof paper and in a bag. Accompanied by fires with aoili and a hot chocolate. Service at the counter spot on. Placed your order. Receive a buzzer flashing light alert. Neatly presented on a tray.
