This is the best bar in Christchurch. It has a fantastic atmosphere created by happy positive staff. Ric and his team go above n beyond to help people. We've had a few group events at The Oak n Ferry who went out of their way to make it a great experience by setting up tables for us and even placing beautiful water containers and serviettes on our tables. Ric checked with our group several times in the night to make sure everyone was happy. Even the band gave our group a special mention greeting which made us feel very special and welcomed. Many bars take your drink order and plonk your drink on the bar but Oak N Ferry staff are different as they enjoy some banter with customers which builds the atmosphere....it's a real standout and a huge credit to management. The staff all take time to talk to the customers. Ric is one of those special people who really focusses on the needs of others.........he has an amazing sincere manner and a will to keep customers happy. Our group loves The Oak n...

Again..."what" and then the person serving me had to tell her.
The food is awesome here and service is usually really good. When people dont understand, they can do better than standing there blankly going "what". Yes diversity is so wonderful... but its also not my problem. If they cant speak properly they probably shouldn't be...
Read morePopped by today for an impromptu lunch date with my husband. Never been in before so didn't know what to expect. Tuesday is stone grill for $15. My husband ordered a double cheese burger of some sort $18 and we shared a jug of speights between us.
Food was delicious. I had beef on stone grill and it was honestly the best piece of meat I had on a hot rock in forever. The chips were not greasy and crispy. My husband loved his burger. Lunch ended up being almost the same if we went to a fast food restaurant so definitely good value.
Service was good. Food was good. Atmosphere was good. Can't complain except for the fact extra mayo and ketchup was $2 extra per serving but a small price to pay for the patronage. 5/5 will definitely...
