We've been going to Sals for wuite a bit now. Usually the one in Riccarton but the one at Hornby from time to time as it's more accessible. However, I won't ever go back to the one at Hornby going forward. It was near closing time, 8:35pm. I saw heaps of sliced pizzas but disregarded them since I was going to order a whole. For the benefit of doubt I should have asked if I was going to get a fresh pizza. Instead I asked if the pizza was going to take 15 minutes...the usual wait time for a fresh one. The answer was yes... so I thought I was getting one fresh made. What a nice surprise I was met with when I arrived home and opened the box. It was 8 slices of pizza repositioned to a whole one!! 🤬🤬 All the slices were of different sizes so they didn't even make a nice circle. An easy way to lose your appetite is to see an already sliced and dried pizza in the box. I don't even have a clue to how long they had been sitting in the display case!! I added the pics to the photos section so you can see the 8 slices make a whole deal and the dryness.
By then (it was just past 9) the store had closed. If he was going to sell me reheated pizza he should have stated that before my purchase. Furthermore, why tell me to come back in 15 minutes when it only takes a few minutes to reheat it!!! This is SO misleading!! If you're done for the day don't sell it instead of ruining someone's meal!! I'm going back as soon as the store opens to demand my money back.
--- just returned from the store Staff on duty was super apologetic and she fully refunded the pizza. Not likely that I'll eat here again but thumbs up for the super...
Read moreWe usually love getting Sals, but lately it hasn't been anything but disappointing - not the food, but the service. The 1 out of 2 times, we arrived at Sals to order dinner, and they were closing early, that was fine, we understood. Last week we decided to get Sals and checked online to make sure it was open, sure enough we arrived there and it was open. Walked into the shop and began browsing the menu, to be told by the manager that he had been there since 8.30am, hadn't had a break and wasn't taking anymore orders. We ate somewhere else, walked back past Sals to find him serving people. Whether you're struggling with low staff or don't want to spend the money to hire more staff, it's been very disappointing and has become a...
Read moreI use to regularly visit the Hornby branch for take out, but will opt against it going forward. Recently grabbed a pepperoni slice and ginger beer to go and was overcharged, when I questioned it the girl working said that even though the ginger beers were clearly marked at $4 in the fridge, they were actually $5.50, When I asked for the refund, she said it wasn’t possible, I asked to speak to someone who could give me a refund, she said no, in the end she took my number and said she would ask her manager to ring me. Thankfully, Im in a position where the money isn’t an issue but I believe the principal of businesses overcharging their loyal customers wrong, i have given up waiting for the phone call from the manager with even an apology. I really enjoyed SALS pizza in the past but sadly won’t be visiting there in future with...
