Slick Burger — Restaurant in Christchurch

Used to be very good, one of the best in CHCH but now under the new management is awful, the quality of the food is very poor, the patties isn’t seasoned or even salt on it or even looks like a burger, the buns (which was brioche before) now is whole grain kinda bread (come on guys this is a BURGER SHOP not a salad/wholegrain/funfree shop), plus the bread was very soggy and wet I couldn’t eat half of that, we paid $46 dollars for two burgers and at least it needs to be a quality one and it wasn’t I never had a bad burger like this before, Maccas would be better. The service was like the food poor and bad, we placed the order at 8:40pm for pick up and it says ready in 15minures on Uber eats app, our order was ready at 9:40pm exactly one hour late and all the time they said “5 more minutes” NOT communication at all, not apologies or anything. This is a shame! Was the best place in CHCH to have a burger and now it’s the awful one. I’ll never ever come back to this place and tell my friends to do not go so. BAD QUALITY FOOD BAD SERVICE If you want waste your money go somewhere better than this. This place doesn't even deserve to waste...

They have a sign on the door saying 20% on website. Tried to book though that but they have two websites one broken and old and one broken and new. The old one gets higher ranking so was suggested first.

Then tried to use the second but found the prices are just inflated and they charge a vague credit card fee. So likely the same price as the shop.

At this point I was frustrated so just clicked through to pay using Google pay and it crashed the site.

They never had an order come through so I had to pay again and hope the website didn't pass it later.

All this time I was waiting to be served with only one other customer in the shop.

So rather than get my order and put it on the hotplate he just kept me waiting.

He did offer me free fries before I walked out but tbh I would rather that the service was better than have a bit of extra potato.

Oh and the front of house is super cold and drafty.

And it took at least 15 min to make the burger after I placed it so definitely not...

Slick burgers is by far the best burger joint in Christchurch!!! I would even go as far as saying in New Zealand! The burgers and quality of the food here is unbeatable, the service is 10/10 every single time, they follow and take seriously all dietary requirements and even go the extra mile to confirm and accommodate most requests! The vibe and atmosphere within the shop is lovely and always feel very welcomed by all staff. Whether you eat in or take out I can almost guarantee you will not be disappointed! They even have their own delivery service on their website which is very useful!! ☺️

I have always used slick and was a little sceptical when the owners changed, however they have absolutely nailed it! Kept the same perfect taste, kept the burgers exactly how they were while making the place their own! Highly highly recommend any day of...
