Zone Bowling Garden City — Attraction in Christchurch

The only reason it gets a 1 is because my kids enjoyed themselves,and there's nothing lower, and their completely unaware of the cost or terrible service I endured. Firstly the total cost for an hour and a half of entertainment was $120, what the..... A break down of these charges is $14.50 per person, whether ur 1 or 100, I took my 4 kids ranging from toddler up is $58.00, I didn't play to save money. $7.90 per kids lunch x4 is $31.60, I also went without lunch to save money. 20 arcade tokens is $15.00, 5 tokens each. However most games only accept real money $1 or $2 coins, of which cost another $15 in coins, all up my kids won 1700 tickets only to redeem 1100 as the choices are very limited, for example 700 tickets for a fidget spinner, that you can buy for $5 from a discount shop in any shopping centre, the indian girl made no effort 2 calculate our tickets and walked off so 500 tickets were not redeemed and after the bad service from her throughout our stay I didn't bother. On arrival I had to ask several times what our lane was, as it was so loud with music like a night club you had to yell constantly, even to each other, developing a headache, it was filthy from the previous people with food, drink and spilage allover our table, 3 times I had to go up to counter and ask the indian girl can u please clean our section, which she replied " oh yip" but never did, so when our food arrived I asked again as didn't want 2 eat amongst someone else's filth to which the lady quickly and apologising abliged , thankyou she was great, but had already played a full game in someone else's waste and filth and had to keep telling my kids don't touch the table or put anything on it, ( not impressed ), the food was disgusting and uneatable, I asked for the hotdog to have no mustard, it came with mustard, replaced quickly tho because the bun and the frankfurter is microwaved with sauce on it, the chicken nuggets are under cooked and mushy, yuck, even kids wouldn't eat it and commented ooh yuk, so that was a waste, overall it was a terrible, overpriced, experience and don't intend to support this company any time soon, I guess the only reason they keep going is because they're the only one in christchurch. Great place for parties. Kids had a great time playing laser tag.

However, I am not satisfied with the service. I understand they are busy, but we have a 3pm party. Which didn't happen on time as have to keep on chasing the staff who assist me.

My suggestion is to make sure that zone bowling staff to stick to what was mentioned on the instructions or "TIPS" for us who is having the party to be at the venue 30 mins prior (which we did, we got there 2.30pm) our guests did arrived 10 to 15 mins before 3pm to finalise all the details and get all the food selections for the kids, which didnt happened. I feel sorry for the parents who tried to bring their kids at the venue early.

I have to keep on chasing the staff who will assist me, what to do next, who will be the host and ended up the party was in a rush, they only asked the kids food selection after 3pm which was supposed to be the time the party should start was expecting that they could start the laser tag at 3pm but kids are waiting. Not sure what to do next.

Next time, please also prioritize the party not just the casual bowling activities. But overall, kids enjoyed the lasertag and arcade. And the host is...

Amazing staff, have been twice niw and had asolutely amazing custimer service came alone with ny husband for a date night and played a game bowling and spent tike in the Arcade/timezone we recieved vouchers excellent customer service and decided ti return with our 4 chikdren a few days later the staff are well informed/educated and share with your their wealth of knowledge not afraid to ask their manager if uncertain great staff at the cafe section. And when i had accidently overpaid. A staff member came to find us and had oreloaded a timezone card fir us wih Credit for the vhikdren to enjoy playing in the timezone section. I can nit rate the staff highly enough vustomer experience is everything to me and their attitude tiwards their job and the people that come to enjoy and have fun is exceptional 😘 have definately found my new go to family outting location. Everything in one place feeling very blessed to have such a great spot here in Christchurch.... And we commonly mistake chch the quaky city as Boring after dark🤫...
