Embankment Tavern — Restaurant in Christchurch

My experience here was a very pleasant one and i believe the customers needs and requirements were considered and catered for,. This business is a early morn / late night opening / closing R18 licensed establishment. I was awaiting to meet an associate whilst here, so basically, I arrived here unaccompanied. It is not everybody's ideal situation or idea of fun to be Going out anywhere alone. People that do attend or frequent any licensed premises or venue alone, want to feel at ease and safe. We must always be sensible&responsible for our own care and protection. A friendly and familiar surroundings with a local crowd, certainly will help and provide towards this. The Manager and bar staff were generously friendly, helpful and accomodating. They went the extra mile being welcoming and hospitable and made to ensure that you, the patron had the service that they wanted, deserved, needed and required. , they even introduced their local patrons to me offer company, conversation and an alternative to solitude, during my visit. The local patrons were just as obliging, and welcoming as their bar staff. Just like one big family that looked out for one another and surroundings. They open early morning, at 8am and they have a late lisence (3am?) for busy evenings, gigs and events. This businesses venue is wellknown for it's consistent offer of entertainment, such as, live bands, music, gigs and preformers, You can play a game of pool, darts or slot machines here, or dine in and order some tasty bar meals/ snacks off their unstoppable Own menu, which the locals rate so highly. There is a confined, sheltered, outdoor area, which houses the stage, dance=floor, seating, a smoking and entertainment area. If you have a good time, or too many drinks or a late night, you could enquire about the residential courtesy coach and it's availability. This Licensed establishment doesnt demand, for a shirt and tails, It offers a much more casual, relaxed atmosphere. I consider and found THE EMBANKMENT, to be, inviting, relaxing, homely intending for a hassle free, locally runned business, A tavern that you could walk in for the first time by yourself, being unknown by all and being un-knowing to them also, Then walk out, when leaving being known by and knowing of,the embankment whanau. (Family).

It is always good to know that when and where, alcohol is consumed that there is a good bunch of people overseeing and that will see that other people are safe. I got all this fuel for reason to post such a recommending review after a very brief but impressionable visit and encounter to this corner local haven. Friendly staff, lots of off street parking. Great for after work drinks and a game of pool. Good pokie selection, TAB also available. Weekly meat raffles, space available for hire for functions, JukeBox, kid friendly. Courtesy van to take you home if you've had a few too many. Food is good,not over priced like a lot of pubs, and what I've had has always been hot, prompt and I have nothing bad to say about it. NOTE: I haven't tried everything on the menu of course! I wouldn't call this an "upper-class" establishment, I wouldn't go there if it was. It's laid back, down to earth, usually full of average good people. Not full of drunken idiots or under-agers. All I would ask is more smiles from the staff! There is a bottle store attached to the pub. Small, but...

An unbelievable place.. fantastic atmosphere.. great rock n roll music.. the food is pub-like but excellent.. awesome selection of beers and spirits.. the service and bar staff are beyond amazing.. great outside area for smoking, vaping and puff on your favorite large cigars.. best place in Christchurch.. would recommend it to anyone.. thanks Haley, for the best service I've ever had.. this is a place to comeback as often as one can.. overall, one of the best pubs I've ever had the pleasure to have gone to..
