I dined in today for the first time for Mother's Day lunch with my kids as I was craving for biryani. The good reviews I've read prior to going did not disappoint.
The lamb biryani was delicious 😋 - lamb was tender and rice was flavourful. The lamb korma curry was a little bit on the watery side and a little too sweet for my taste, but that's probably just me.
My kids and I shared one cold delicious mango kulfi for dessert (as we were really full from eating the big portions of biryani).
The owner, who served us, was really polite and provided an exceptional level of customer service from the beginning until the end. 👍 He even helped us take pictures with the beautiful wall in the restaurant as background.
Conclusion: For the price we paid, the food is pretty good. 👍 The overall experience for me was great especially on this special day when I'm looking for something affordable yet delicious enough for my taste. I've tried quite a few biryanis but the quality is not worth the high price and most of the time the lamb in those biryanis are just too chewy and can't be eaten. The portions in those expensive ones are also too pathetic. With cost of living increasing so much, I'm just grateful for businesses like Aroma Delight which still serve affordable and tasty food. 👏
Interior: Small takeaway with 2 small tables for dine-in, each table enough to squeeze in 2 adults and 2 kids. Some benches for customers to sit while waiting for their orders. Beautiful decor.
We'll definitely be coming back to try their other dishes, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday when they have the special price.
Let the owner know what you think of their food if you're dining in. I'm sure they are pretty open...
Read moreDelicious food with no added colour or preservatives. Prince is an amazing person managing the restaurant, customer service is worth a gold star rating. Last minute request to dine in for visiting friends (06 of us). We were accommodated at 9pm with a smile. Ordered Indo Chinese, Soya chaap, garlic naan, paneer and masala chai. Quick service, blow away by the gada style (Mumbai lingo) Indo Chinese (veg fried rice and veg Manchurian). Soya chaap was yum for a first time order and the naan and paneer were delish. We ordered food on the mild to medium range owing to health reasons. Food was served quickly, relaxed atmosphere, well looked after. Five star service. My go to place in Christchurch for comfort Indian food. Thank you for a memorable dining experience with friends from out of town, they were super impressed and couldn't stop racing...
Read moreThis place is absolutely a joke. They appear to be only making money. Terrible customer service.
The biryani I ordered looked like they have just boiled up the chicken and added to the curried rice. Have you ever tried your own made biryani ?. This is the worst biryani I have ever tried in my life. You guys need to instruct the butcher to chop the chicken parts into the typical biryani portion size. After all, a human will consume that not an animal.
Don't insult the Indian cuisine, please. Please conduct some research if you lack awareness of New Zealand's standards for food quality.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO TRY OTHER INDIAN RESTAURANTS. THIS IS NOT AN AUTHENTIC PLACE TO TRY THE INDIAN...
