My partner and I went to Ed Street Sunday 19 May on a rare occasion without the kids. Went to the bar, ordered a coffee and a beer, calamari and a caesar salad. After 25 minutes we hadn't even received our drinks. The place I would say was fairly busy on observation a lot of people sitting there with no food and there were only 2 waitresses on (one on bar, the other lady servicing the entire restaurant). Made the decision to leave as could see that drinks were not coming anytime soon and we didn't want to waste any more of our time waiting for drinks and food (and had a babysitter to come home too). Told the waitress we were leaving so so cancel our order - she told us that was a good idea! I wished i had of known our business wasn't invited when we walked in the door, rather than leaving us waiting for drinks and food. very disappointing service (or lack of it) - no excuse for it. even though we live in waiuku we normally travel into auckland to eat out as this is the type of service that puts us off eating...

Was in on Tuesday as part of a new quiz team and have to say the food was absolutely amazing especially the ribs will definitely be going back for a meal. Would have rated 5 stars but unfortunately the service from one staff member was not I would expect from a restaurant/bar the vibes I got from them was they would rather be anywhere but there. The two ladies I came across that were also on that night were amazing. Both were very warm friendly and welcoming thankyou ladies for your amazing service. One thing I did notice though was even though one of the ladies were limping she did more then the other staff member who I noticed was just standing around on his phone or disappearing is definitely not a good look for the place. I do hope that management take a real hard look at him. But once again thankyou to you lovely ladies look forward to seeing you again and having a...

Our visit was impromptu after laying our son to rest. This was Tom's regular watering hole. We thought it fitting to invite our party to have a drink for him at Ed Street. The reception we got from Michelle was disgraceful, unwelcoming, unfriendly and embarrassing. We hadn't booked! There was only one chef on and she rolled her eyes when we discussed buying the first round for the 15 of us. We felt we inconvenienced her by ordering bar snacks. We were more than happy to wait. I heard her talking on the phone to someone relaying the 'terrible story' of people walking into a bar wanting food and drink. Michelle, when people enter your place of work you should always treat them as guests in your home. Because of you we are unlikely to return. Very, very disappointing. The sole chef made amazing food in great time and it...

on arrival it came as a surprise to staff as they didn’t know where we could sit in the empty restaurant so we seated ourselves. it took around 10mins for us to be given a drinks menu which in return ended up with the wrong drink. finally placed our order after 20mins however 3 mains were not available. cold pizza and missing ingredients in the salad resulted in more waiting. all and all Ed street is definitely a expensive experience but credit for showing the all blacks game.

Fast friendly service. Seated and suggestions given for our starter cocktails. One was melon based and the other a mango chilli Martini....gorgeous! Starter was a shared plate of calamari rings...crunchy not soggy and fat! We both had salads for mains. Mine was thai beef salad (spicey on request) the meat melted in your mouth. To end the meal for dessert a Pina colada and another mango chilli. Great atmosphere, end of work vibes. Very pleasant eating experience

Its a shame this is my first bad review and its local...1hr 15 mins waited for our food... Others arrived way after us and 2 tables got served before us? .. Daughters food had a hair in it.. My Tomahawk was way over priced, over cooked asked for Medium Rare got a well done. Probably worse steak ive ever had.. got closer to the bone and started to taste off?.. Shame it was my first ever Tomahawk too.
