Muffin Break — Restaurant in Franklin

This place was extremely horrid. The muffin I ordered had no flavour what so ever. My husband and I asked for it to be heated and it was barely above room temperature. We also ordered an iced chocolate which just tasted like sugary milk. We also ordered the avo on toast. The eggs were undercooked and tasted like vinegar. The avo was sloppy and there was far too much lemon juice mixed in. The bread was burnt on the outside and not even slightly toasted in the centre. There was no salt or pepper packets on our table and the whole meal was completely under seasoned. The place was filthy and our table had a sticky dirty feel to it. There were so many tables that had dirty dishes on them, it was disgusting. My husband went up to the counter to ask for another set of cutlery and not only was he standing around waiting for several minutes he also watched the lady take a set of cutlery and wipe the knife and fork "clean" with a dirty rag. Well I finally got around to trying this place for a coffee. There are local rumours going around that this place serves the best banoffee pie. After trying lots of versions over the years, including the The Hungry Monk Restaurant, East Sussex, UK, where it was originally conceived. Well, I must say that it certainly is up there with the best of them. A nice biscuit base, with REAL banana slices in caramel, and a generous topping of cream.

They also have a little play area to keep the children occupied while you drink and eat in peace.

The staff were nice and friendly too. Well worth checking out whilst recovering from all that shopping...

Went to this place today and NEVER again...Worst service ever....ordered a heated up cheese scone which I received cold...my wife had a blueberry muffin which was old and stale ...the 2 coffees we ordered failed to materialise, so after waiting about 15 minutes and after a further request (they had forgotten the order) we received 2 horrible tasting coffees which we threw away...hardly any recognition by the staff of the appalling service..has to rate as one of the worst places we have ever visited...WARNING don't ever go here....the cafe from hell..only 1 star when it should be zero, but you can't post a comment...
