Having lived in some of the world's food meccas and experiencing food in fine dining establishments ,our experience at Seddon left us wondering and underwhelmed. While the service and ambiance were great, the prices and quantities were the opposite. I ordered chicken liver as entree and kumra fries, my partner ordered the crispy duck breast . we both agreed that the flavors were good but the quantity was on the very stingy side. 23 dollars for two small pieces of chicken liver with a thin 4 cm piece of puff pastry is by all means very expensive . With all due respect, Seddon is NOT a fine dining restaurant in Paris or New York. . the duck breast was done beautifully but was more like a duckling , pretty small for the hefty price of 42 dollars. The breast was accompanied by a lone baby carrot and a sliver of leek. We also ordered a side of seasonal greens that was nicely roasted and had great falvors. All and all the impression was that in the kitchen someone is doing a great job with flavors and presentation but the prices are very steep for the amount of food served. It is a shame ,because everyone in our table declared that they will...

We were not disappointed. A fairly low key entrance led into a surprising chique, bijoux interior with many refined touches. We were greeted by a warm and friendly maitre d' and led to our table, past a lively and bubbling open kitchen, by a very pleasant server. The evening had started well. For the mains we as a group were admittedly very boring, all opting for the duck. That was until my wife decided not to be boring and had two entrees, octopus and the Clevedon mozzarella. None of us were disappointed. The meal was excellent, without fault. This was not a cheap meal but it was excellent value for money. Go, eat, you...
