I stopped in for a late lunch with mum who was visiting around 3pm on Sat 31/7 & it was no problem to serve us both. Note, they close at 4pm. Mum had an Angus Burger w/chips & I had smashed Avo, Cheese & Chicken on a lightly toasted Ciabatta roll w/ chips. The chips were superb, nice & hot. Unfortunately I can't give this visit a 5 star rating due to my Ciabatta bun wasn't toasted long enough to count it being even toasted! It was still as if it had been taken out of its package & waved under the griller! It was not pleasant that in between toasted & not toasted form. Also mums bun on her burger wasn't toasted at all after it was enquired about & requested to be done. We ordered a pot of Chamomile Tea for two. It arrived in a single serve Teapot & we just barely got two cups of Tea out of this pot with certainly no extras. When commented about this & our order was for Two, the waitress that served us just smile & walked away without comment. The whole service, food portions , quality & atmosphere of The Coffee Shop has certainly changed under this new ownership. In the three occasions I've have been over there in last month, at different times of day & days of week, it is not the busy hum of activity that use to be thriving at this cafe. It is a real shame as it big, well planned out for a disabled persons like myself to move around comfortably, dog friendly with water bowls that can be filled on request outside under the umbrella seating & has good assess for any wheelchair disabilities. Lastly the food was excellant & service great even when run off their feet the girls there always smiled & exchanged pleasant greetings. So I say to its current owner, if you want to increase your customer bum's on seats, improve your service, don't cut corners on your food quality & encourage your staff to smile & engage with your customers (& not just about...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere is only one word to describe The Coffee Club Pukekohe, and that word is WOW! My wife and I popped in because she'd spotted a sign advertising the Hokey Pokey Pancake... so we added a smoothie and a couple of chicken tacos to the order. Served on a plate with a side of bananas and vanilla ice cream, the pancake was the fluffiest pancake I've ever seen, and it's presentation matched the exquisite flavour - at almost an inch thick, it was devine! The tacos were served with hot chips and a side of tomato sauce, nice soft tacos filled with mouthwatering yender chicken, salad and a zesty relish, the flavour took oir tastebuds to an entirely new level. Sunny (the owner) is a very humble man with a passion for the cuisine he so skilfully prepares, and the immense amount of pride he takes in his establishment shows. Friendly staff, and service beyond belief. Thank you Sunny - we'll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT JAN 2021 - given it a year and returned, food ok, not worth the amount you pay. Kids wanted water, glasses were FILTHY. No napkins on table and saw staff laughing and gossiping about another customer. It was dead in there, instead of sitting at a table playing on your phone you could wipe some tables down and restock.
A year ago - Not a good start when the best part of your hot chocolate was the foam on top. Underneath it was as though they had forgotten the milk. Not even slightly hot either. Our food was mostly room temp, the sausages didn't look or feel like they had been cooked, merely heated somehow. Lecture was really off putting. Steak was half gristle and had to ask for sauce. $4 for 14 actual chips. Bland mediocre food. First time out for breakfast in a long time and just not worth it here. The food and coffees come out quick, only positive...
