Chicken Wicken — Restaurant in Hamilton

I absolutely LOVE having this place so close to mine! It may be a problem of mine but I regularly come here multiple times a week! The food isn't that expensive and is honestly a LOT better for price than classic chain fast food places. Their chicken burgers are amazing and the fact they have vegetarian alternatives for most of the burgers is great and makes me happy! Also they have a wide range of chips options! Normal fries, waffle fries, curly fries, kumara fries (slightly more expensive but my favourites so I let it slide!), hashbrown bites, so many!!

My usual order consists of fries and the cheesy chicken burger, or the kebab on chips cause oh my god that chicken is always so good too!! (One day I'll try the kebab on rice or the actual kebabs haha).

The people are always so nice too! I may have perks of being a regular for over a year haha but they're very friendly, will bring the food to where I'm sitting if I'm not paying attention, a worker ran out the door one time to get my attention when I hadn't even realised they'd forgotten one thing, just yeah, amazing!

Also very good hours! Makes sense being close to the uni, but they're open really late and it benefits someone like me who's hungry in the middle of the night. They're regularly open till like 1am and sometimes even 4am!

I often spend more than 10 dollars haha cause I like to get a bottle of pepsi when ordering too, and chips as well as something else, but it's great if you only have 10 bucks or less! Go there just to get a monster energy drink or a pepsi or coke, or a small or large fries, or even a 10 dollars burger (with amazing real chicken not like patties from maccas or anything which aren't as good), or kebab on chips! There's a large range there and I haven't tried it all because I stick to what I like but I know it's all good!

Have been twice now to this place. Chips of any kind are so so SO over salted. Got the curly fries even yesterday and just could not eat them and didn't want to give to my dogs even, as I didn't pay to get a heart attack or my dog to have a heart attack either. Just want normal NOT SALTY chips. Also way WAY WAY too much aoli sauce on the wrap that the crispy chicken was no longer crispy and had a very soggy bread wrap when got home - blah yuk. AND it was supposedly toasted, which was waste of time as ended up soggy. Staff are very friendly & happy to see you, so that is good & welcoming. But food on offer needs to be better presented.

25/11 - the business owners rang us up and offered to provide our meal again another day, but obviously fixing the error that their trainee staff had made to our food. Worst ever customer service I had ever experienced. I had ordered two drinks (Mango Lassi/shake and Strawberry shake), and the guy on the counter make me these two drinks on a fries/chips box (super loose fries/chips box used as drink holder here). When I took the drinks in the fries/chips box, and while taking it carefully to my car, the weight of the drinks tear off the fries/chips box and the drinks were spilled fully on me. When I informed the guy on the counter, he was so rude, he told me it was my mistake. When I told him that he should have given the drinks on some good rigid holder, he got angry and told me that it was my mistake, their boxes are strong and all. I was insulted and I was getting angry too, but then I left from there silently. Such a worst ever experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
