Cucina Cafe — Restaurant in Hamilton

Extremely disappointed!! As a regular cafe visitor to cafes in my home town of Hamilton, throughout NZ and overseas...I was extremely unhappy with the very poor service I received this week on Wednesday March 14th. As a friend and I hadn't visited Cucina, we were excited, and looking forward to a delicious and relaxed lunch. Unfortunately this wasn't the case at all!! We arrived just before 1pm and the Cafe was a hive of activity, which is usually a good sign. We secured a table and I went up first to stand in the queue to order. There were 9 people in front of me. My friend then went up and ordered, and 7 people were all in front of her. All good so far. I ordered a mushroom,sun dried vegetarian cake/rissole..All that needed to happen was it to be heated.. My friend received her meal first, which surprised us, considering how far ahead of her I was. Her meal was a small quiche, that required heating too. A waitress kept coming over asking were we still waiting on anything? I said yes, and told her what it was and how far ahead of my friends order I had been. Different waitresses kept coming over and asking the same thing. By this time, 30 minutes to be exact!! Yes I did time it..I had lost my appetite, and told my friend I'd get a refund on the way out. But right at that moment my food arrived..Couldn't care less. The best thing.The diet coke I had! Very disappointed as I have been here previously and enjoyed the ambient atmosphere, food and customer service. Today's visit was a totally different experience our food and drinks all came out at different times, I am understandable if there is a few minutes delay between each meal/ drinks but the longest was the b. Day persons meal which took approx 25min delay after everyone else's. Both steak meals was cold the salmon eggs bene was amazing but the salmon was over cooked... Bonus thou!! the big breaky was appreciated and the kind young gentleman behind counter did give a free drink to one of us as we were told ingredients weren't available but he went out of his way to make it, the lovely waitress that pulled the short straw to appoligize to us and offer a free cabinet food which we declined was also appreciated the little things do make a difference but this was a special birthday brunch that could of...

The food was pretty good, but the service was only ok. [Visited in Level 2] Only after waiting in line for about 10 minutes for they told us we needed to take a seat and someone would take our order as they're only doing table service. Unfortunately as no tables were clean we had to seat at one which has dishes on it, the table was a bit of a mess, but since we were waiting a while I moved some of the dishes to another messy table - unfortunately this meant that they decided to never clean our table for us dispite it being visibly dirty. Eventually after we finished our food we had been waiting a while (hoping someone would bring us a bill and eftpos machine) but they never did. Apparently although you can't order at the counter, you have to pay there... Like... Why? Also, the staff might need to learn the types of coffee they offer, when I asked for an Affogato and described it, they asked if I meant...
