Downlow Burgers - The Base — Restaurant in Hamilton

Won two free burgers off of the Downlow facebook page and got around 5 days to redeem the voucher by. I live out of Hamilton by 40 mins so was only able to make it over the day before they expired. Went in at 8:15pm with my father to enjoy a nice dinner, when the lady behind the counter proceeded to tell me that they had closed, but the rest of the food court shops were all open and The Base website states the food court is open till 9pm on a Thursday night. The lady reluctantly allowed me to redeem the burgers after some discussion, until she proceeded to tell me I would have to pay for one of them. My voucher sent to me explicitly states that it’s for TWO FREE burgers. She rang her manager as for some reason the clearly stated voucher for x2 burgers isn’t sufficient enough apparently. In the end I was told I wouldn’t get the two free burgers as the manager did not know of any competition on Facebook, which I know isn’t true as I have won another free item from it before and redeemed it at the same location with no problem. Really appalled at the service I got here today. I used the automated menu and ordering system. Ordered a Take away double cheese burger combo with no pickle and a vitamin water for the drink. $26.00 I waited over 15 minutes, which I’m ok with, I get it, it’s lunch time, everyone is eating. Went up when my buzzer went off. I had to ask for a takeaway bag, there was no vitamin water, so I asked to be refunded for it, she had no clue what I was talking about. I said I ordered a vitamin water on your ordering portal. Just stood there looking blank. So had to change the drink. Then when I got back to eat, I had pickles in the sloppy messed up burger that looked like it was made by my 5 year old, and the chips tasted like they were still half frozen with no salt. No tissues either to clean up all the grease. Seriously guys, read the order please. Surely it’s not that hard? The burger itself was tasty. But need to clean up...

Second time coming here came here to month's ago wasnt very impressed thought I'd see if they had gotten any better. Was quicker to get my food than last time but the food wasn't any better dont get me wrong it tastes good but the quality is poor. I don't know what was more watery the coke I was drinking or the sauce it ran straight of my burger and all the chips. My mother order the popcorn chicken with a "thick" shake the popcorn chicken was smaller than my pinky toe really underwhelming but tasted fine. The shake also like the sauce very watery and the straw and tiny but since the shake wasn't thick as advertised it didn't matter. Chips were fine get a pretty decent amount of them. I wouldn't get your food here it's expensive wait time is a bit long and the quality is very poor you would be better of going to McDonald's or KFC...
