The Coffee Club The Base — Restaurant in Hamilton

Utterly disappointed,First time eating at coffee club at the Hamilton Base diner,Not only did we wait 45 minutes for our food,We ordered the fishermans basket,It was disgusting,The fish bites and Chips were burnt,The calamari were dry,And to top it off it was cold,I told the waiter I was totally disappointed with my meal,because of what it looked like,The waitress apologized then took the plate,then returned it with out the fish that was burnt,and told me they were making another lot of fish bites,10 minutes later they arrived with the fish bites that were burnt again and dry as,because I was already disappointed I ate it,didn't want to waste it after the price we paid for a small basket,Best thing on the plate was the salad,definitely will never eat there again.

They need more chefs there and waitresses so the waiting for meals won't take long to get to customers,Must say the waitress was nice you could tell she was runned of her feet trying to serve and clean tables at the same time.

The worst experience or I should say threatening experience i had today, server dropped coffee while servicing which in not a big deal, i requested another server if she can clean the table and pour same coffee in different cup perhaps a clean cup the answer i get was the another cup i can get will be takeaway cup or drink from same dirty cup and she left the cup on table and left giving me the eye. For few seconds i couldnot believe that she actually asked me to drink coffee from dirty cup.

Anyways other staff members came apologised and gave me clean cup and new coffee i guess, i ignored wht happened and started drinking coffee as i have been in hospitality business for long time i thought may be she was having bad day and i was on wrong place at wrong time.

Few moments later she passed by and gave me the threatening stare as if she would punch me in throat. I left full cup of coffee on table and left premises immediately.

Visited today with my mother in law and two kids (1 k 4yrs). Hayley was amazing! She organised a high chair for my little one and a double chair so my daughter could reach the table before we could even get in the door and without me even asking. Hayley was also so helpful with the cabinet items and suggesting the chocolate cake melted with a scoop of ice cream - something we would never have thought of to ask! It was delicious. My 4 year old was also given something to colour and some crayons (all newish/well cared for/no need to sharpen etc.). Hayley also told us not to worry about the mess on the high chair as they would clean it. It was truly the best service I’ve had - ever! Thank you so much for making our stop so easy and enjoyable.
