I LOVE MACDONALD'S, I really do I'm a child of the 80s, and all those advertisements with ronald, the hamburgler (most genius name ever invented for a criminal who pilfers hamburgers) the big scary purple guy they called grimace, I think he was called grimace but I can't be sure, all I can recall is he was a giant weird purple guy with big eyes, stubby arms and a mouth that he could stuff a small child inside and he was always kind of the one they left out of the fun. I guess that's why I liked him the most, he reminded of myself so I always rattled around on his insides in that giant bar cage think they turned him into. And finally there was birdie, the only female character in this situation, she wore a scarf and some of those old School flying Google and a helmet, she was bright pink so girls would know that she identified with them (I hope that's not sexist, im not into that) she was OK of you were a girl but for the guys it was literally the worst thing if you went to get a happy meal and they gave you the girls toy, granted some of the girls toys were pretty cool, but on a social level amongst the bro's it was UNACCEPTABLE. Ok on to the food, as a child (7 years old) I only had macdonalds once when we had to visit my mum in hospital in whangarei, it was the most heavenly day of my life and I recall thinking to myself, why doesn't mum just live in the hospital and I can live here in this world of happy meals and hamburglers, hahahaha kid logic. Any way the next chamce I got to eat macdonalds would have been 7 years later when I was 14 years old and working for the infamous New World that burnt down in my home town, I mea I worked the 20 years before that happened and I have no association to that event occurring none, honest. Anyway there was this macdonalds down the road from where I worked, I earned below minimum wage at 14 years of age I was earning $5 and hour (like a boss) and worked after schools for 4 hours and then 8 hour shifts for both Saturday and Sunday so that's like 36 hours a week and I remember thinking to myself I'm Going to be so rich and can buy my own house and live far away from my family. When pay day came around needless to say I was super happy I had $50 of my own to buy whatever my heart desired and you now what I got with that first paycheck? That's right mother thanking macdonalds and not a baby happy meal I Ordered from the adult menu and you know what I got? Two big macs a mcfeast burger (they don't make those anymore but they were so Good) a cheese burger a sundae and a large Fanta and 6 nuggets with sweet and sour sauce! And I still had change, o waited patiently for my order to be prepared as I waited i thought to myself am I too greedy or selfish? Just then the food arrived and the question evaporated from my head. I have never NEVER been so satisfied in my life and that's why I love macdonalds, that's why I always eat there if given the chance and that's why I'm so...
Read moreI have been away from Hamilton 2 years. Thought I'd check this out before taking my grandkids. I had forgotten that this place is one of only a few businesses I have come across where the disabled parking is not next to the building in a rear carpark. It was raining and I got wet getting to the entrance. As I got there an inside customer rushed to assist me, despite 3 assistants nearby at the counter chatting. After a few minutes waiting at the counter one turned to me and 'do you want something" I (sarcastically replied.."food I assume you sell it" to ahich I was told to move 4 feet to my left ..."you have to order from there' ! Then when I tried to order I got "breakfast stopped at 11 do you want .anything se ?' I said no and left. Staff not as attentive or as friendly as the customers. That was yesterday. Today I was with 3 grandchildren and headed to this maccas, only to be told, not this one poppa it's always bad service the drinks are often flat, and the tables and floors are usually not ckean" grandkids 1 x 10yr old, 1 x 8 ye old, and 1 x7 yr old. We went to another maccas... great service ND pleasant staff... this was shocking. I was there at 11:15and didn't know breakfast finished at 11. Just thought you'd like to know, because today I find out it's not just my grandkids that said...
Read moreOrdered a coffee with breakfast from drive through. Was asked to park up and wait for it. Waited around 10 minutes before realizing it wasn't coming. Saw people walking in and out with coffees while I waited. Went into the store to ask for a refund as I needed to get to work. At the counter, no one acknowledged me. Not even after I waved out and asked the crew who could see me for assistance. The Manager ignored me and was busy working on his device despite seeing I was asking for help. A simple acknowledgement would have been polite. Thankfully the next crew member who made eye contact with me was a lovely young man and went to speak with the lady at the McCafe. Seems she totally forgot about my coffee. Though she apologized and gave me a refund I was pretty annoyed with the whole experience and not getting my morning coffee. They are usually pretty good here. The Manager on today was terrible. If I could rate him a...
