Husband and I went here for date night. We called at 4:50 to see if they would have a table for 2 at 5:30 and they said yes, to come on in. Didn't take our name, so we figured there wouldn't be an issue. When we got there they seated us no problem, I didn't even mention that we had called ahead (and we ended up getting there around 5:15). So, even if you don't have a booking this place is worth taking a chance on walking in.

Food was great. We ordered the focaccia entree and the carne pizza (no mushrooms) as well as the Kit Kat Waffle for dessert. Be warned, the waffle has nuts on it - not sure if it was walnuts or macadamia or maybe something else, but they were good and I usually do not like nuts on my dessert! I really liked the focaccia, well, I should say I really liked two of the dips with the focaccia - though I wish they had included a bit more oil with the balsamic, but it was still good and the pesto was delicious as well. I like hummus but it didn't do much for me with the focaccia. Husband loved the pizza, toppings were just the right amount. And we didn't expect to enjoy the dessert as much as we did. Overall, we felt the prices were a little high on the entree and dessert, but we were happy and plan on coming back to try more items off the menu.

Wow, what a revelation this place was.

As a local I figured that I knew most of the good places to eat in Hamilton.

I have driven past Mizzoni many times, I have had many meals in the pub next door. I always assumed that Mizzoni just did amazing wood fired pizzas and that was it.

How wrong was I. Behind a fairly unassuming shop frontage is a gem of a place to eat. Upstairs is a lovely seating area. My family of 7 all ordered something different.

Rib eye steak = Amazing Chicken parmigiana = Amazing Mushroom Risotto = Amazing Carbonara = Amazing 3 x different pizzas = Amazing

The focaccia starter was a glorious sign of things to come.

It’s unusual for all 5 of my children to agree on anything, but the voting was unanimous, they all loved eating here. We will most definitely be coming here regularly...
