We had dinner at The Lookout Bar tonight. Our booking was for 7:30, and we arrived 10 minutes early—luckily, they were able to accommodate us, which was great. We were really looking forward to dining here, as it’s in such a nice area, but sadly, the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations. We ordered the beef burger and seafood pasta, but we waited 40+ minutes for our food. It would have been nice if the staff had informed us of the wait time so we could have ordered an entrĂ©e while waiting. When the food finally arrived, the burger lacked seasoning, and the pasta looked like a mess on the plate—not at all like the photo on the menu. The flavors were there, but it was disappointing overall. For the price, we expected better quality. Pretty average experience, which was a shame because we were excited to try this place.

Love this place, took my adult son who hates going to restaurants their for his birthday dinner... he loved the place. Not too noisey, food was delicious and he was very chill there. We all loved the food and atmosphere. Highly recommend this place!. We got a platter with a range of things and a pizza...best idea!!

The food was too good, forgot to take a ‘before’ photo. We work in the area and are here frequently - the measure of a good food establishment is consistency, and we ALWAYS have a great meal here. Thanks team!

Good fancy building, open style interior design, separating into Bar and dining area. Specious and good ambience. Tasty food and priceses are good, between medium to high end. Popular with locals. When we were last there, the weather was hot and it got really hot in there once all the tables are filled up. We also saw others wipping sweat dripping down their heads. It bacame unpleasant to be on the inside. Either the air con wasn't full on or the design of the building traps in the heat. Sufficient and dedicated parking in front of the restaurant, if not, you will need to park on the street - not a major. Now onto the technology aspect of placing your actual food and drink orders. You know how over years, all Banks have tried and introduced( if not forcing) customers to use digital self service such as using an ipad or online stuff. It brought back the exact same feeling when we're were told we have to order via the Digital ipad look alike thing. We were OK with it but the elderly group next to us really struggled and the waitress who served them was in a hurry to move on and not interested in explaining in a patient manner.. but they had to in the end asked another waitress who walked past. For those of us using Computer all day in the office, last we want is to look at anither screen when we come to a reataurant to relax and unwind. We understand digital menu can free up staff time to do other things/or even hiring less staff, but this also means potential reduction overall customer service experiences. The waitress who served us was friendly but lacked serious knowledge on what's in the menu. Ingredient etc. She had to refer to the kitchen and the supervisor in order to answe my questions. As the evening got busier, I noticed the supervisor kept on walking past to see if we have finished - which we haven't, but we certainly felt the pressure and it became unpleasant to stick around and order desert towards the end. When she walked past our table, she kept on looking at the ipad thing in her hand to see what bookings are coming up and she can allocate tables etc. Still given the 4 star as the food is tasty and decent serving size....

I have to give the outlook bar 110% for service/customer service. I ordered a dish without checking whether it contained mustard, to which I have a serious allergy. I had a mouthful before realising there was mustard in the caramalised onion aoili, which covered my steak.. When I explained why I couldn't eat my lunch, the staff could not have been more kind. It was my bad - I ate my delicious fries & assured the lovely server & duty manager it was not their problem. I was given their business card & told to contact the manager if I incurred medical expense as a result of an allergic reaction. When we came to pay, the lovely young lady wanted to remove my order from the bill. We were grateful for the offer, but we insisted on paying, as I was at fault for not checking ingredients. I think the way my mistake was dealt with was so lovely. I'm sure if I'd been able to eat my lunch, it would have been delicious. My husband certainly enjoyed his meal. Thank you - 2 happy Aucklanders who, if they lived in Hamilton, would go back...

Lovely ambience at the lookout. The e-menu’s are a cool concept and ensure your service is always ready when you are, without losing the warm personal interaction either the wait staff - nice balance achieved! Espresso martini a cheeky indulgence for lunch on last day of annual leave - divine đŸ€©đŸž and hubby’s lemon lime & bitters was also worth a mention. We shared garlic rolls accompanied with additional garlic butter for our own decadent slathering, a fresh nicely flavoured shrimp cocktail 🩐 and a perfect open steak sandwich with crunchy fries and whole mushrooms. Sincerely enjoyed every sip and delicious mouthful. We share most of our cafĂ© & restaurant orders including drinks, to maintain family harmony, eliminate food envy and be able to appreciate more flavours. Works well for us. The pricing was more than equitable for the quality and service. Thanks lookout staff. A+ and will be a favoured...
