I had the pleasure of dining at Nami Japanese Restaurant recently, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, whose kindness and attentiveness made us feel right at home.

The food was absolutely outstanding — each dish was beautifully presented and full of fresh, authentic flavour. You can tell that a lot of care goes into the preparation, and the ingredients were of the highest quality. Whether it was the sashimi, the grilled items, or the side dishes, everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-balanced.

The service was equally impressive. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. They took the time to explain the menu and offered great recommendations based on our preferences. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and it made our time there even more enjoyable.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is elegant yet relaxed. The interior design blends modern touches with traditional Japanese elements, creating a peaceful and inviting space. It’s perfect for both casual meals and special occasions.

FIRST OF ALL - the whole Restaurant was designed so nicely and they had like these pretty flowers hanged up on the ceiling and stuff. very cooolllllllll !!! and the servers were really nice and the CHEF WAS A WWWWWW! Okay so we were asking for extra chili or something, I don't know but they mistook it as one of their dishes and we felt bad so we decided to pay for it and just put it as take out and the chef was soososososo entertaining because we got to like see him make the sushi and he was like making my little brother excited by showing him because we asked them to make avocado sushi since my little brother didn't like the tuna sushi we ordered. ANDDDD THEWY ARE SO NICEE OMGMGMGMG so I just came back from dining there like 10 minutes ago and they gave me 2 extra drinks because they saw that I was drinking this specific one and just in general they weren't mean or anything, they were just so fun to have conversations with and they have prettyyyyy good humour. Proprietor is very friendly, although the young man waiting tables definitely didn't want to be there and never bothered to check on us after giving us our food. We tried to order ramen but they were all out, which was odd since it was literally an hour into their first service of the week (Tuesday). Because of this we asked for more time to check the menu and the waiter then took it upon himself to put the single order through for gyōza which we'd mentioned before finding out they were out of ramen, so this came out long before we'd even had a chance to order other appetisers or mains. The wait for the rest of the food was staggered but not too long overall.

Wakame salad was perfectly seasoned. The tuna tataki sashimi was not bad but seemed to be from frozen going off the pinkish colour and texture. Soft shell crab was tasty but on the small side for $28. The donburi unagi was very good.

All in all not an amazing experience, so I will probably try other local options for Japanese...
