I recently had the pleasure of dining at Scott's Epicurean for our Post Audit Lunch with my colleagues, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This charming eatery in the heart of Hamilton truly lives up to its reputation. The ambiance at Scott's Epicurean is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The interior is tastefully decorated, with a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere that sets the perfect tone for a relaxing meal. Now, let's talk about the food—absolutely fantastic! The menu offers a delightful selection of dishes, showcasing a mix of classic and innovative flavors. I opted for the Salmon with Poach Egg and it was nothing short of divine. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was top-notch. My colleagues were equally impressed with their choices, each dish bursting with flavor and crafted with evident care. The service was another highlight of our visit. The staff at Scott's Epicurean were attentive and friendly, striking the perfect balance between being helpful and allowing us to enjoy our meal and conversation. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations and ensuring that our dietary needs were accommodated. One thing that stood out was the attention to detail. Whether it was the timing of the courses or the quality of the ingredients, it was clear that Scott's Epicurean prides itself on providing a high-quality dining experience. Overall, Scott's Epicurean made our Post Audit Lunch a memorable event. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes this a must-visit spot in Hamilton. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great dining experience, whether you're in town for business or pleasure.

One of Hamilton’s longest running cafes and it’s easy to see why. It’s exactly what you expect from a good cafe: consistently great coffee, tasty food, quick service and comfortable dining. This is a narrow cafe with some street seating, about 10 indoor tables and a large outdoor area at the back which feels like a secret oasis in the middle of the city. Service is speedy and friendly. Coffee’s come quickly. Food is tasty and they do waffles and fantastic pasta as well as the usual cafĂ© breakfast/lunch bits. Expect to pay about $18-25 for a meal for one excluding drinks.

Capers in hands down the best European place in rotorua for lunch or brunch, the cabinet selection is always amazing and the salads are very fresh and unique. The cakes and slices are so good and I would definitely recommend them. This place is always packed but the kind lady will do her best to accommodate you despite how busy it is, you may have to wait a few minutes when it's really busy but it's worth it.

I was really upset after having breakfast by myself at Scott’s this morning - After being recommended by family to come, on my business trip to Hamilton.

The wait staff were lovely - service was very efficient - the only thing was that I ordered the Poached fruit with Oat & Almond Granola. When it came, it looked lovely, and I was just about to eat a spoonful, when I noticed it was laced with lots of peanuts. I’m anaphylactic to peanuts specifically, and the menu didn’t state it contained other nuts, so I didn’t think to question, as I usually would. However, I asked the waitress if the kitchen could change it, to a version without peanuts, and she said sure. When it came back, the granola with oats AND peanuts was gone, and I was simply left with fruit and yoghurt.

I therefore ate half of what I had ordered, and when I went to pay, I inquired as to whether I would be able to get a discount, due to the fact that I had only received half of what was stated on the menu. I was left with the manager, and was then questioned as to the seriousness of my allergy, why I didn’t tell the wait staff of my allergy, and I could sense the manager was wanting to tell me how to manage my allergy “next time”, with the things she said, and stopped herself from saying. It was condescending, and as if I were a child, needing to be schooled on how to function when ordering my food at a cafe. She took off a couple of dollars from my bill, (literally two), and I walked out almost in tears, and had a cry in my car, on my way to work.

I have not been into anaphylactic shock since I was a child, because I’m so careful with my allergy. I also don’t like to feel like a burden, and manage my allergy very well, on my own terms. This morning, I felt like an inconvenience, and an idiot, because of something that I was born with. I would suggest that Scott’s make VERY clear what exactly are the main ingredients in their food. If something has a hell of a lot of peanuts in it, you need to call it “Oat & NUT granola” - that way, a person with a severe nut allergy will think to question it further.

I don’t know if I want to return after such an...

Me And my partner have recently moved to the Hamilton region after long stints living overseas in various countries and we dine out regularly, since moving to Hamilton we have tried in excess of twenty different eating establishments and find the only one we have kept as a regular is Scott’s, the reason being is the atmosphere when you walk in is warm, we are always greeted by genuine friendly smiles and good communication from staff, our orders are taken promptly and the food and coffee is delivered promptly The food that I have there is amazing and so is the coffee every single time For me this place ticks all the boxes for me which is atmosphere, coffee, food, service and pricing. Thanks a lot to all the staff at Scott’s for making our dining experience with you...
