Generally I like to write a humorous, positive review, finding even the tiniest glimmer of hope. However, I require a full and satisfied stomach to do so. Hence this review will find no hope, for the experience was bleak and grim.
Upon our arrival we were dutifully greeted by whom ever was on front of house. First impressions were good. We were shown to our table and shortly thereafter were greeted by our waitress who decided (correctly) that the ambient noise level was excessive and her contribution to reducing this was to speak in very hushed tones, suitable for perhaps a church, holding mass for its resident mice, to describe what must surely have been delectable. However we were unable to order this wonderful special as we had no idea what it was.
However. Onwards and.... upwards. Orders were placed. Drinks eventually arrived. However, not ours. Entrees arrived. Again, not ours. Were we maybe the royal tasters, charged with ensuring the absence of poison for those more privileged than ourselves?
Drinks once again arrived. Again, we were teased with the thought of some fine beverage. But alas, down the path of darkness we trod as it was not ours.
Finally, light at the end of the tunnel! Our entrée arrived. The side plates, however, did not. Apparently all guests had been paying for their meals this evening, so there were no dish washers busily scrubbing their way to freedom, and rather than simply wash and dry some side plates we were matter of factly informed that they were all dirty and therefore us under privileged must use or hands to hold our food.
My wife, by now notably lacking the appropriate ratio of ethanol to blood, reminded the waitress of our drinks, and she very proudly arrived back at our table with yet another tray heavily weighed down with someone else's drinks.
By now, the geological timeframe was taking a toll on our patience, and we noted that the patrons of surrounding tables had indeed fossilized, and in the interests of seeing our children before they become pensioners, we abandoned our table. We did stop to notify the person who greeted us, whom hoped that we would one day return. Unfortunately I have not yet found the fountain of eternal youth, so will sadly be turning down his generous offer. I do have a few other things I would like to achieve before I too...
Read moreIf i could give no stars that would be my option. The staff were really rude, manager on duty told me couldn't find my booking, but seated us after I showed our reservation, then came back to the table and said I booked under a different name and It made it hard for them, and just so i know for next time (so I apologized) then I checked my booking and it's under the name I gave the lady, they just had it written down wrong on their board they showed us, so maybe they need their staff to write the names down properly as it was a mistake on their part, they said I needed to call and change my booking if I was bringing in my baby, cause they then had to get a different table, to accommodate baby chair or pram, but also told us there was only 1 baby chair in restaurant and it was not available (not that we asked) I said my baby would be sitting on us (he was 7months old) there was no need to change tables, and I did see other families come in asking for baby chair (why only have 1 for a family friendly restaurant? I booked with first table, if i added an extra person it charges more on the fee, baby didn't need a seat and wont be eating, so i didn't add him. Came for husbands birthday and left earlier as the rudeness over the time we were there, like we inconvenience them, was crazy. We go out to dinner all the time, round NZ & Internationally, never had this type of attitude. I've been a manager in the service industry, if my stuff were like that, I would definitely doing something wrong...
Read moreWe attended a bottomless brunch recently for a friend's Birthday. Sadly, the experience left us deflated and disappointed. The Manager came over explaining our waitress had complained of us double parking. She did this while we were eating and when we looked at the table everyone had one drink each. We explained the two drinks in the middle of the table were ones that we didn't like, and that she was welcomed to take them way, which is the policy. Many Waitresses had come to our tables refilling drinks and taking orders. Hardly our fault if they did this at their end. Whats worse, we didnt know there was even a problem. We hadnt seen our waitress since she took our orders for food and took our money. After being served this notice, we decided we would leave a half an hour early as the atmosphere made us feel totally gutted. We didn't at all enjoy being treated so poorly, and no one deserves to be treated like this. We paid like everyone else, we weren't drunk as the drinks were watered down with lemonade, we didn't act out like others there who were loud, yelling and clearly had a few to drink. We were respectful throughout, but again treated really badly. We will never come back here. Treat people with respect and manaaki them and train your staff on how to deal with these situations in future so you dont lose customers. This might be what you teach your staff to do in future. That will...
