SAI Eatery Havelock North — Restaurant in Hawke's Bay

Ordered the chicken cashew to take away a few nights ago and I'm sorry to say it was the WORST chicken cashew I've ever had. I was expecting so much better with your positive reviews! The chicken and cashews both were charred so much that the whole dish tasted completely burnt. All I could taste was char, and chilli which was way too hot. It was inedible. There were also no vegetables at all as you would expect with a cashew chicken, and as I spent $100 on two dinner items and some samosas, I can easily say, the food is horrendously overpriced.

The samosas were nice and my partner had the green Thai curry which was also very nice. They tasted good but absolutely not worth the price.

I have now been to both locations. Napier & Havelock north and I can truly say that if you are looking for awesome authentic Thai cuisine this place is a must.

It is a family owned restaurant.

The menu is updated and added to often and as the chefs are perfectionists they never add a dish without it passing their their own palates.

The staff are lovely and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

The atmosphere at Sai is comfortable and inviting, while still maintaining an elegant appearance.

Ate lunch 17/1/24. Can't wait to go back again!! I had the chicken cashew dish and it was the tastiest, best presented chicken dish I have had in years 10/10. Must stop raving about it!
