Burger Burger Torbay — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

Here are some Pros & Cons. Was so excited, but super disappointing.

PROS: Exciting & new. Super local burger joint for Torbay & Longbay finally. Cool vibe, fun aesthetic.

CONS: Crazy expensive, there's just no reason for such ridiculous prices for such basic things. All the burgers are super basic, let's be honest (it was literally a cheeseburger), so it's just unreasonably priced. My beef patty wasn't fully cooked, I'm a medium rare kinda chick, but this was just not cooked properly. Buns were dry & a bit stale - for an opening weekend?? How old were these buns? You charged that much for stale buns? Not cool man. Portion sizes are abysmal. Which is pretty typical nowadays whenever you go on the shore, but at least reflect that in your pricing! $11 for chips!? Parking is an issue, had to park by the sail club house & walk over - will be worse when summer hits & everyone's at the beach.

Won't be returning, mostly because of the prices - if they had reasonable prices it wouldn't be so bad, but you can't expect to charge so much when you're providing terrible quality & tiny quantities. Not comparable to burgerfuel or flaming onion etc, because their burgers aren't basic & are cheaper, so stop charging as if it's...

My advice, do not come here for a burger. I paid $72 for two burgers and a couple of shakes. Which honestly is not the most expensive out there. But it is still in the upper range of what you pay for these items.

It does not deliver on par with the price. Zero seasoning on the patties, the sauces also had no seasoning, the burger had an off flavour and was constructed in a horrible way with beetroot juice soaking the buns and making it a soggy mess.

I think the issue here is a skill shortage in NZ... they were all immigrant workers from india or pakistan but hear me out, im not racist but they dont love to eat burgers or understand what constitutes a perfect burger. Do yourself a favor and do not waste you money.

I am not the kind of person to ask for a refund. We can do better New Zealand... so please lets start to do that.

Really cool decor and vibe. Awesome place to get drinks by the beach but a bit pricier for drinks than expected (cocktails at $17). The burgers and sides are very yummy though a tad too spicy (for the weak like me) even though it wasn’t like (cajun chicken) on the menu 😅 if u care just ask someone. Great fun to go there and very enjoyable time. Will have to go back to get ice creams 😊 Was a bit surprised by the lack of any communication between any staff and customers waiting to be served/get table/takeaway etc. Everyone ignored the customers till we asked if we should find a seat? 😬 not the best dealing with people, they seemed more task oriented.
