Traditional Roast — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

It is unfortunate that I write of my experience here. I love Roasts, as do many Kiwis. I arrived here at 8.40pm. Usual closing time is 9pm. The staff member was cleaning the Bain Marie with a spray bottle, whilst there was food still sitting there keeping warm. I ordered a roast serving of pork with mashed potatoes. The pork was sitting out on the bench & I ordered the veges least likely to have been 'sprayed' with windex cleaner! I only ate half the portion as it wasn't very nice at all. I was very ill overnight with awful stomach pains & several trips to the bathroom! I should be reimbursed however, I'm not keen for another meal from here after that!...

Ahh, roasts. The one class of takeaway joint I really missed when overseas. Torbay Roast has excellent roasts, and who doesn't love their crispy potatoes. In fact, we like to pick up a dozen or so just to supplement a home meal for the family. Operators are very friendly and while it's not "cheap as chips", it's still excellent value. Perfect for when you suddenly crave meat and want to grab something on your way home. It's quite good. I'm surprised I never noticed this place before.
