Cafe Manly — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

What a dissapointing fathers day brunch. We used to thoroughly enjoy the occasion of going to Cafe Manly, won't be returning after todays abysmal affair. From the incorrect order (specifcally asked for no icing sugar on my daughter's pancakes and the whole plate was covered in it) to serving the dessert 20mins before the mains came out, which was left on the table untill after we had eaten our mains and even after 35mins sitting on the table it was still frozen and icy in the middle, not quite how I like to eat my doughnuts. My partners big breakfast was a shocking display of pig slops - under cooked eggs, every thing luke warm, sausages raw in the middle. When approached by a staff member and asked how the meal was my partner tried to explain what was wrong with the meal and the young lad said "oh that's good" and walked off. Obviously the owners have given up on this place which once was a gem of the Manly eateries, the owners "DGAF" attitude and the standard of food make this an expensive waste of time and money. Have not visited here for quite some time, last was back when it was called 'Sparx' I believe. Happy to say the new ownership run a great operation. Beautiful coffee in an actual decent sized cup - a rarity these days believe me. Wife's fritter order was a bit dry and the pregnant pallet meant she wasn't too keen on finishing hers. I mentioned this when settling the bill which the owner (I assume he's the owner at least) was excellent and very professional, insisting we not pay for that meal and ensured the feedback would be passed on to the kitchen. What stellar service there, appreciated by us very much! My pancakes were delicious I might add.

Coffee we ordered black, yet it was cold...very disappointing. HOWEVER The owner Dave made contact and we deduced it was a staff training issue and no black coffee should be warm or cold But HOT, AS a result....., how fabulous to be acknowledged and the issue Corrected. I have raised the star count because I have been here on many other occassions and been happy with both quality food and top noch service.
