Rib 'n Roast — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

I’m a regular here and have been told not to return after calling to make a complaint and being lied to by Carl the worker there stating the roast was freshly cooked yeah right my wife works in hospitality and the meat was so tough she couldn’t even eat her beef roll and I couldnt even start on my pork roll as the meat was extremely tough and dry and potato’s were stone cold . Huge disappointment may I add this isn’t the first time either with this store . They need to take a leaf out of west Auckland roast stores book and learn how to serve an appropriate roast that’s actually fresh and hot not reheat they’re meat and potatoes disgusting . Told me several times I can’t return had a very aggressive attitude and clearly is in the wrong industry as he cannot take customers complaints properly without reacting aggressively. Left and got kfc which was delicious hot and fresh . Save your money and go elsewhere . He gave me a refund and still continued to say don’t return here and that he’s texting Steve another worker to inform him not to serve me talk about immature and unprofessional certainly won’t be returning with attitude and service...

Got the ribs and potatoes and I had mixed feelings on this. Firstly, the chap carving up the meat greated me without really looking up and I was not sure if he even was talking to me. Eventually I realised he was and I put in my order. I wasn't the only one as he did the same with the lady behind me. Probably needs to stop carving and just look up when greeting people. The ribs were OK. They were a little tough and dry and they could have used more of the sauce he painted on them. The potatoes needed a little bit more seasoning to give them some flavour. In fact a bit more of that sauce over everything would have made it ten times better. But the serving was decent, and looking at the other roasts they were preparing for the customer in front of me, their servings are quite decent...

We stopped by for lunch after going to Snowplanet. We took away our meal to eat at the beach. We were there on a Friday and they, fortunately, had brisket available. Unfortunately, the ribs were only available after 1600. We grabbed a large portion of the brisket and the roast pork. The staff were really helpful and friendly, suggesting what we should order for our group. The brisket was delicious, nice flavour and quite juicy. The pork was a little dry but the crackling was amazing and we got quite a large tub of gravy with the meals. It came with the standard sides; peas, carrot, kumara, potato and pumpkin. The potato was amazing with a nice crunchy outer layer and creamy interior. It was a nice place for a quick meal but it was a bit disappointing that the ribs weren't...
