McDonald's Ti Rakau — Restaurant in Howick

I normally try and avoid fast food, but sometimes I'm in a real hurry and just want to grab a quick burger. This place is normally "meh", and usually quite busy. Sometimes orders can take a long time. Also cleanliness is not really up to scratch with a lot of flies buzzing around, greasy tables and piles of rubbish. Last time I ate their I got explosive diarrhoea, so something was dodgy. I ate there at lunch, then at around 3pm I was in a meeting. Suddenly I started to feel a bit faint and started sweating. I managed to hold on until the meeting ended, but I knew what was coming. In the end I had to go home early. Probably some sloppy food handling and/or staff coming to work with an illness and then spreading it to customers. Probably safest to stick with highly processed or cooked food. Avoid things like salads that have probably been sitting around for long past their use-by date. Or better still don't eat fast food. Prepare meals carefully at home, save money and...

I was hungover on my way home so we decided to get some maccas to make us feel a little better.

After ordering a big Mac hunger buster with extra pickles, onion, and Mac sauce on both the burgers.

After 20 bloody minutes I finally get my order from drive through. I remember wondering why they were understaffed on a Saturday night..

Anyway I start eating on my way home. I remember the cheeseburger tasting strongly cold on one side of it. I told myself it must be the extra pickles! It wasn't. As soon as I finished the cheeseburger I felt queezy. My stomach over the course of the drive home gets progressively more crampy.

Went for brekkie & for the 2st time ever they are out of hashbrowns. Ok no problem except they took my order and gave no info of no hashbrowns, then left me waiting for 10mins. Then a girl came over and said would I like fries? I said no - why? She said we've run out of hashbrowns but she'll check. Then gave me a thumbs up. I waited another few minutes and then the order before me was served. I asked what was happening with the hashbrown. They said they don't have any. I said we'll what about my order which was a muffin & hashbrown combo, they will need to refund my hashbrown and serve the rest as my muffin had now been sitting there going cold for 6 mins. Finally after my pushing I got a few dollars back and a cold meal. A little communication would have resolved this. Poor...
