too crowded on mothers day, too many people crammed in made it difficult to walk to the front to get drinks or food,, when returning to my table right down the back id be constantly dodging other people not looking where they were going, children and having to negotiate blocked aisles and paths from people not thinking about thoroughfare. The food wasn't the best either plus the temperature in the restaurant was too high, I had to abandone my family on mothers day and sit in the car. If ever there was a hidden gem of a restaurant, this is it. A Sunday roast that you couldn't cook better at home. Meat that is really tender (beef and ham), home style roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese that has a real cheese taste, peas, carrots, roast pumpkin, and home made gravy. Then, there are the desserts - 2 types of cheesecake that have a base like the old Edmonds style that is at least 2 inches thick, fresh made pavlova, trifle, hot apple crumble and a few other desserts. Yes have used the restaurant here. The manager for the restaurant does not go out of her way in customer service or in any way if you dietary requirement example gluten,dairy or nut allergy and Ceoliac disease. Have found her to be arrogant and also meals are not very nice. Have heard alot of people have complained. But apart from that from the restaurant working mens club is pretty good nicely presented clean tidy. Great to meet friends and family for a drink or play a game if pool for example.
