Our family recently had the pleasure of staying at the Langlands Hotel in Invercargill, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. We booked a Superior Queen Room with Two Queen beds for our two adult sons and a Junior Suite for my husband and I, with adjoining rooms. This arrangement was perfect, as it gave the boys their own private space while we could all spend quality time together in the spacious Junior Suite. The suite's comfortable couch and chair provided the perfect spot for us to relax and reconnect as a family.
What made this stay particularly special was that our eldest son, Thomas, an apprentice builder had followed the construction of the Langlands Hotel with great interest. He had always wanted to stay here, and it was wonderful to finally experience it as a family. The rooms were beautifully appointed, comfortable, and the service was exceptional throughout our stay.
I especially enjoyed the luxurious bath in the Junior Suite, where I could relax and watch a movie on the large flat-screen Smart TV through the glass. It was a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience at the hotel, particularly the delicious breakfast in the Brew’d Cafe. Another highlight was visiting the 360 Bar on the top floor. It’s the perfect place to meet up with friends while enjoying the spectacular views of the city and the surrounding area—a truly unforgettable experience.
Langlands is the perfect place to stay when traveling from TeAnau on the Southern Scenic Route. It makes a great base to explore Southland and the Catlins, offering convenience and comfort.
Overall, our stay was memorable, and I can confidently recommend the Langlands to anyone visiting Invercargill, especially families and couples looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. I look forward to returning annually to...
Read moreStayed for 2 nights in the Junior Suite on the corner of Dee and Don Streets $335 p/n carpark extra $15 p/n. Not so good points: Receptionist when we checked in didn't have English as her first language, she couldn't understand what we were saying and vice versa. Quite small rooms for the price, windows facing the airport not floor to ceiling, which would have made things at least feel bigger, they are long, narrow and a good 1.5 mtrs above the floor. Our room had a interconnecting door through to the room beside us and we could hear the people quite clearly talking and one had quite a bad cough that kept us awake at night. Haven't spent enough on the double glazing, which is terrible for a new build, heard the local lads doing laps on Dee Street until 2am in between the chap next door coughing and people up above us moving around. Bathroom has glass walls looking into the bedroom with a curtain you can close, but a bit weird as toilet is not in its own cubicle. Not a lot of sound privacy as once sliding door is closed there is quite a gap underneath and on the side. Shower cubicle is small and feels very confined with not a lot of room to move around. No overhead rain shower head, just a small removable shower head plus the glass door leaks water out into the bathroom. Good points: the staff in the rooftop bar, excellent service and very friendly, remembered us and what we were drinking the second night when we returned. Staff in the cafe great plus the included breakfast...
Read moreAfter visiting E Hayes and looking at The Worlds Fastes Indian' The lady recommended that we stay here. Still new and fresh we booked in and cost is mid budget and offered what you would pay double for. Service is friendly and on point, rooms clean and outstanding.
Booking in is a breeze, our car was parked safely behind very secure gates. The restaurant is still to date getting up to speed with menus and the bar offerings for drinks is adequate and priced fairly. Decor is fresh and new. There is a viewing deck up top and is closed on certain days.
Conveniently located in town and across from Speigts Ale house, which we might add serves great meals and local beer selections that are mouth watering!
The room is clean and great for a night or a week stay. Small fridge, robes, beautiful selection of cutlery, huge bathroom with a REAL BATH. The separation from the bedroom by glass is a fine touch, sliding glass door to enter of which I might add. If you had a few drinks you might find yourself walking into it!
Aside from that mishap, its a well appointed room with USB ports at the power points. Bed is firm and pillows perfect. Views are of the cbd depending which room you get. It all a very pleasant stay and a place we would...
