Stopped for a quick lunch and was surprised how delicious the food was. Could say its better than most expensive thai restaurants out here. The place was full and busy but had our food ready in less than 5mins. Portions were generous that all of us had trouble finishing our orders. My mates enjoyed their food as well. Definitely value for money.

We are glad we stopped at this place for lunch on our way to Auckland from Mt Ruapehu to Auckland. They serve fast (f/rice 4min), and the food is delicious. We ordered fried rice and two entrees ( chicken with cashew nuts and a beef dish) along with jasmine rice. The staff and owner (a Lady) are very friendly and helpful.

Very disappointing experience. Odered Roast Duck Red Curry - it was served in a tiny entree size bowl $22 that's a joke. (See photo size of spoon and bowl) There were no vegetables only pineapple and 3 peas. The curry wasn't even red, it was yellow and very below average taste.

There's not many choices for a meal after 3p on a Monday, unless you want to consider McD's or one of the 2 markets in town. I stopped into Jasmines to check out the menu or decide if I wanted to wait until the other place reopened for dinner. After looking at the menu, I knew I needed to look no further! Jasmines has 8 pages of menu choices and that doesn't include lunch specials. I appreciated the pictures and explanations as I am not that familiar with Thai food. But that's not the only cuisine on the menu, although mostly it does have an Asian slant. I narrowed down my choices to 3 and picked one with Crispy Pork and stir-fry noodles and veggies. GREAT CHOICE! There was so much food on the plate I needed a ToGo Box. Wonderful people working there and the food came out hot and fast! If I ever get back to Taumarunui, I won't look any further than Jasmines for...

Worst Thai food ever. We wanted to have spicy food so made our stop here. As soon as we were served with our first meal, we found out that this was a mistake. Stir-fry was way too sweet for a savoury meal, spicy noodle was too salty. All the ingredients didnt blend well together so it felt like we are just eating all sorts of different raw ingredients at once. We felt very sorry for the ingredients used to make this dish as we were in a complete shock with food we got served. Now I am seating in the McD, cleansing my tastebud with chips. We wasted $40 for our lunch, now spending another $20 at McD which is a lot better. I do not recommend this restaurant if you are familiar to Asian/Thai food. If you have not tried Thai food before, try somewhere else. Plus, they charge you for the rice as well. Staff? not sure if there was such thing...

0 stars but can't post without one. The worst Thai ever eaten came out of this place tonight ... 'dumplings' were dim sum out of a frozen packet, money bags with nothing but frozen mixed veg in them, scallop curry with NOTHING else but a few scallops minus their roe in a cornflour thickened sauce and a jungle curry that tasted like nothing ... veg and chicken in coloured water. Very stingey serves and expensive topped it all off. There are other options, and I reckon anything would be better than this. We went based on reviews ... all I can say to that is they may not be familiar with Thai - honestly ghastly and most is in the bin, if we hadn't of been really hungry that's where the lot would...
