Good place to stop and eat in Foxton. It's nice to have a new cafe in the area for variety. The drinks came out first. Both coffee and hot chocolate were on point. Although I would have liked them hotter (I do get this a lot when ordering hot chocolates and assume maybe they think a child is drinking it). However nothing really to fault here. The food was also very delicious. We ordered the big breakfast (however they had run out of baked beans) and the French toast. The big breakfast was great, especially the scrambled eggs and the hashbrowns which were deliciously crispy. However the French toast I feel was lacking for the price we paid for it. Two thin slices of bread but with a good variety of fresh fruit on the side... and something purple that didn't look natural but tasted delicious. The one major issue with our visit was the time it took to deliver our food. We waited just under an hour from ordering to when the food was on the table... without a warning from the staff saying there was going to be a big wait. If you have nothing better to do with your day it's not a problem but if you've got plans to be somewhere else... not the best sitting around waiting in hopes the next plates coming out of the kitchen are yours. Staff all very friendly, and the place was clean and tidy. Will probably be back but maybe just for take away drinks and cabinet food as they seem to pump these out the fastest and...
Read moreWell what l can tell you about my experience with this cafe, it officially does alot of bussiness in the weekends, it was packed, the waiting time for the meal was up to 25=30 minutes no fault of the staff just alot of people to contend with. There was plenty to choose from in the cabinets, but l chose from menu, l was disappointed as half a toasted sandwich with bacon, tomato, some other ingredients which were alright came out with a few chips, 5 minutes later another half of sandwich this time not toasted came out, The staff apologized for the delay, but abit strange all round. Good parking around the back of building also on street, plenty of seating indoor also outdoor which is great, prices up there with other cafes depending on what you order. Very clean and tidy cafe. Check this out on your drive to Wellington,...
Read moreMy review is based on comparison with other Robert Harris cafes in the past. I understand that this cafe is still new and the owners are working very hard, and there is an adjustment period. The cafe was super busy on a Sunday that I visited. The staff were very busy, having said that the waitresses need a bit more training and I am sure it will improve with time 😍 The cafe looks beautiful and there are both inside and outside seating tables. There is plenty of parking also. I had eggs Benedict and the eggs were fantastic, however I do wish that there was a bit more salmon on the plate and the bread needs to be toasted. My friend had a veggie filo, which was large, and she only managed half of it. She mentioned though and I quote "it was underwhelming" Overall I think it is a nice place for...
