4th Review - 13 January 2024 I recently had a rather disappointing experience at McDonald's Manurewa during the early hours of the morning. Arriving at the drive-thru around 5:43 am, I was surprised to hear through the speaker that they were not taking any orders, with no explanation provided. When asked there was no reply.

To add to the frustration, I noticed three staff members leaving the restaurant, walking to the front to take a smoke break! So I drove up to them. When I approached them for clarification, I received conflicting responses about the restaurant being closed temporarily or just preparing for breakfast - essentially, they just didn't care.

The service standards here are the lowest I've come across. Head office needs to intervene or spend a few weeks at this store to really see how terrible things are here!

3rd Review - 23 November 2023 Great to see improvements in my drive-thru experience. The cars in front were not told to park-up and wait for their order to be hand-delivered. We all had our orders delivered through the second window! Fries were hot and crispy, burgers were well assembled and the staff were amazing. Great to see changes and improvement. This is my second review. The worst service experience and food quality in all the McDonald's restaurant I've visited! Their Head Office staff needs to spend a month here to see how shocking the service and food quality is. Let's not start with drive thru system they're currently using where customers wait a long time to reach the speaker box, only to be told to park up and wait extra longer for messy burgers, dangling fries and soft drinks that are flat! Every single time I come to this McDonald's, they are never prepared for the drive-through numbers that come through the drive-through. I ordered at the speaker box, and the lady couldn't even understand my clear spoken English of what I wanted to order. This made me angry, having to repeat my words. If you work in customer service in an English speaking country, at least have some understanding of spoken English. Also when I had paid I was asked to move to the next window just to get told by the next worker to please go and park in the car park area and they would bring my order out to me. 15 minutes later, I'm still waiting here. They have no intentions of serving people at the McDonald's window at all. Every single car in front and behind me was asked to park and wait in the car park. Now the entire car park is full and nobody has been served their meals. This is stupid and ridiculous. The manager or branch owner of Manurewa needs to come out and see this ludicrous setup unfold. My meal came out half an hour after I had ordered it. And they put my 3 orders into one small bag so now everything is yuck and squashed. The lady who brought my meal out said oh sorry about the wait. We were waiting on eggs. Never go to this McDonald's. Popped into this mc donalds as we out in manurewa for sports to grab some hot chocolate. Firstly there was no communication on the drive through speaker. None at all. No hi welcome to mc donalds . . .go figure. Thinking the speaker was not working we drove through to the window and let the server know the speaker wasn't working, the worker tham replied "its working i was just going to talk to you" ???? Rude to say the least no apology for inconvenience??? We order our hot chocolate, pay for them then get asked to park up while they get them ready. What kind of service is this? Then while we are parked, a car pulls into the park next to us hits our car and then keeps moving??? We are now rattled, then to see its a mc donalds worker,. Telling them to stop driving, the drivers dad then tries to justify her hitting our woth. . .shes on a learners??? Omg!!!! Followed with "we have insuramce". Words were exchanged the driver(mc donalds worker) proceeds to tell us we don't have to be angry with a smirk on her face, let's her dad keep talking and then tries to walk into work like it did nothing. We call her back and ask for details, still no apology or anything.
