RE Burger Masterton — Restaurant in Masterton

I ordered one of the value deals to split with my partner, it included two burgers, loaded fries, and two Cokes. After ordering, I went to collect the food from the counter and asked to switch to Coke zero, they then charged me an extra $1 per drink to switch to the zero sugar version. I've never been anywhere before that charged extra to switch drinks,

The food itself was just OK, I would say it was marginally better than McDonalds. Perhaps a bit too much sauce on the burger and loaded fries but oh well, it wasn't bad.

But the environment was awful. I went in at 8pm in winter and ordered before sitting down. It was a bit cold at the kiosks but I thought surely it would be warmer further inside where the seating was. Nope, it was so cold inside that I could see my breath. There were two heat pumps on the wall but they were both turned off. Additionally, the music was so loud that I could barely hear what my partner was saying from...

I was brought a combo for my Birthday & I was delighted at the burger & the chips that are coated in deliciousness. My burger was the Famous Castle beef.

My burger was so incredible as well as the sauce, pickles, succulent juicy homemade pattie & the bun that looks a little drab in the photos is totally wonderful & holds together very well because it took in the moisture of all the lovely sauces & stayed firm in my hand , right to my last mouth full.🥰

I don't eat out much & make most of my food from start to finish, from my homemade yogurts, cheese, kombucha, pesto, kimchi etc I cook 99,% of my meals at home & grow my own veggies & have my own beef /cattle, sheep, chickens & eggs. I’ve visted RE: Burger a few times now, both dining in and getting takeaway. The food quality is consistently great, with generous portions that feel worth the price. I’ve tried the Classic Burger (4/5), Renegade (5/5), and Holy Smoke (4/5), and each one was packed with flavor.

That said, it’s disappointing they don’t offer limited-edition burgers like some of their other stores. Also, if you’re dining in and sitting near the windows, be prepared for an army of flies buzzing around—it really dampens the experience. Maybe bring some fly spray or stick to takeaway, which I think I’ll do from now on.
